Vehicle Detail
This truck is a good foundation for a restoration or rod project. Body is in very good condition for being 50 years old. The condition of this truck is 10 times better than other panels I've seen here on Ebay, that look like they've been sitting in a field or woods for 40 yrs. and still asking the same amount of money for them. Granted it's not perfect, but it would make a nice daily driver. The previous owner did some work on the body, like new cab floor sections, some work around the bottom of the drivers door, and around the rear wheel openings. The rear "barn doors" are in very good condition. All the glass is good. This originally belonged to a Fire Dept. in Maine, and was used as a Rescue/Squad truck. The odometer reads 50,199 which I believe to be the original mileage. It has a 305 V6 motor with a 4-speed on the floor. Have only driven it down the road and back since I bought it. Not stored at my house, no garage. Stored 8 miles away in parents garage. So it makes it difficult to conveniently work on it when I have a free moment. It has the original wood floor in the rear cargo area, and as you can see from the pictures, it's in good shape too. There are a couple small dents on the passenger side of the panel area, but they should be able to be pounded out. The seats lilt forward and are in good shape. All 4 tires are good. Brakes are good. Emergency brake works. Has a trailer hitch for hauling your extras. I have a current Registration that I will sign, as well as a bill of sale. I have the original 17" rims and tires that will go with the truck. This would look good with the back compartment finished off with a bar area behind the seats, with a long built in couch on one side, and a flat screen TV mounted on the other side. Great for "tailgating" to games. If you do the "Buy it Now" you will also get an extra hood (a $300 value) off a '63-'66 Chevy truck, that you can see pictured in the back of the truck. If the truck doesn't get purchased by the "Buy it Now" method then the hood stays with me. What's nice about the '60-'66 Chevy/GMC trucks is...the grille inserts and the hoods are interchangeable. So if you don't care for the looks of this '60 GMC front, you can put a different grille in it to look like a '63-'66 Chevy truck. I already have a hood. Another thing I liked about the truck when I bought it was that it still had most of the original paint. Great patina!!! If it doesn't sell, I'm thinking of cutting off the top back section of the roof, and making like a one piece looking pickup truck. I'll leave the roof over the cab section, and take off the rest. But leaving the sides high enough...like a pick up bed. Maybe that design will be more appealing to car $ truck buffs. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is to be made within 48 hours after the end of the Auction by Paypal. The remaining balance is to be paid within 10 days by Paypal, Money Order, Cleared Certified Bank Check, or Cash when you pick it up. No personal checks accepted. If the truck is not removed within 14 days after the end of the Auction, a $10.00 a day storage fee will be charged. If not removed within 30days from the end of the Auction, I will re-sell the truck. No sales outside the USA. Shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the Buyer.
