1996 Ford Contour GL Sport This car was given to me from a family member who used to live in New Jersey. Drove it around for about a year. Car was given to me with 136,000 miles so i haven't really driven around much in it. Car is a great starter car for any teen or young adult that wants to learn how to have a first car. I can't keep it anymore as I will be heading out to college, and being a freshman I am not allowed to have one. And unfortunately, I don't have any family member that drives here in NYC. Hasn't given me much problems, since I've had it, only had to get the transmission replaced. Ever since the transmission was replaced, I've gotten jerky shifting from the transmission, and also had a check engine light on which came after the car was serviced. Car was given to me with a bit of peeling paint on the hood of the car, side of car, and a bit of rust near the rear left wheel. Car has a bit of bumper scratches in the front and back. And the Driver side door lock doesn't open from the outside, so in order to get in, the lock has to be opened from the passenger side. Also, I've recently had a break in attempt that failed and the passenger side so the lock from that side is a bit peeled (See Pictures). Also, the front passenger side coil spring has been cracked and has to be replaced. The car has an AC that requires coolant, as I've never used it because of the weather but works, and heater works spectacularly well for the winter. And lastly, when the car is started, a ticking noise is in the engine. I was told by a mechanic that the timing belt needed to be replaced. Interior is great with no peeling, scratches, or anything. The car is equipped with power locks and power windows. Car is smoke free as no smokers have ever used this car and there is a massive amount of trunk space. The car has recently had the oil changed, and came with gray floor mats. This car is great for a starter and with the amount of time I've driven it with no problems, it will be a great buy.
