Up for auction is a great car sale. Its a Vw passat tdi. If you know these cars you know there known for one thing, and thats its amazing fuel mileage. This car kills a prius in fuel mileage. This cars are very reliable, as most diesels are. But whats makes this car even better is all the recent work that was just done on the car. For starters the car has had a full top end rebuild. The head on this car is practically brand new and everything was replaced and machined and cleaned. The bill alone on the head was $850 still have the reciept, there is only 200 miles since the complete rebuild. The turbo and exhaust manifold were also replaced with new units and the intake was cleaned while it was off. To add reliability to the car I installed an EGR block off plate. The Egr's of Tdi have a tendency to clog the intake and can lead to turbo failures and build up on the head. This does throw a check engine light but does not matter since diesel vehicles are visual inspection. This does not effect the running of the car, and have the original egr system that will go with the car. Things performed on car -Full top end rebuild: all new gaskets everything cleaned and brought back to original specs, essential a brand new head, $850 *******-New timing belt and all belts replaced only 200 miles old. Very important!!!***** -New turbo and Manifold -Diesel geek Egr delete kit -New coolant flanges -New Battery -New head liner -New fuel filter -New air filter -Oil change less than 200 miles old -Many more I probably cant remember Things the car needs -The car will need the heater core installed, I have a brand new one but no time at all to do this -Alignment -Muffler Really the most important thing to do to this car is the thing listed above. The car runs and drives great. Wish I had time to fix but really have no need for tdi as I graduated and no longer commute to school. I went from driving 100 miles a day to 5.
