This is a classic shiny red 1988 Mercedes Benz 560 SL that starts, runs, and drives and still turns heads. It was a local trade in and we couldn't resist buying it because of how nice it looks for an 88. Overall this car is in better than average condition from exterior, to interior, to mechanics for a 1988- it is a California car for the most part and it shows. The engine looks to be well kept and runs without any knocks or noises and doesn't smoke. We just performed a tune up and she still pulls strong and accelerates mightily when on the road. The car's transmission seems to work fine without any grinding. I drove it for 100 miles around town without any complaints and on the highway she pulled very strong. The body and paint look really good- no big dents or scratches and the paint is glossy and shines up nicely and no visible rust (any lines you see in the pics are likely reflections- not big dents or scratches). The interior looks original and is in good condition overall, not perfect. The panels and seats look pretty clean with a little wear. The consoles are decent and all the buttons work except the antenna. The wood trim shows its age and is loose and needs to be reattached and one speaker cover below the steering wheel is also loose.The AC blows but doesn't get very cold. The hard top is in good shape and has a really clean tight headliner and the car has a soft top that shows its age with a couple of small tears. It also has a wind screen that has 2 small tears in it. The ODO seems to work fine and we are told the mileage is accurate. I personally wouldn't hesitate to jump in this car and drive it across the country as it seems very relible as is- that being said I have only driven it 100 miles. Overall it is a great looking car that has a lot of potential and can be appreciated as is- or taken to the next level with a few weekend projects. The tires have OK tread. Included is a full cover, sun shade, and exterior dust brushes. It looks to have been someone's weekend toy- why not make it yours!
