Vehicle Detail
March of 1974 MGB. Chrome bumper car. Lots of new and recently rebuilt parts. I have had this car for 4 years and have been restoring it most of that time. It has a tube shock conversion all 4 corners. New leaf springs. It has overdrive that works great. I rebuilt the engine a month ago, .060 over 8.8 compression pistons and a new Piper cam. An adjustable cam gear with new timing chain tensioner and double row chain. The head I rebuilt with the engine. Three angle valve job, bronze guides and mildly ported head, matched intake and exhaust ports to gasket and opened the bowls some. The clutch is not new but has very little time on it. Stock intake and exhaust with a Monza tip. I rebuilt the gearbox, replaced 2 syncros as one was broken. It shifts great, no grinding in any gear. A Fireball XR700 optically triggered ignition system by Crane and a new distributor with vacuum advance hooked up. It has a new steering rack and very good tires, 95%. Stock steel wheels with chrome rings and spare. Also a newer, slighlty smaller steering wheel for more leg room, but I still have the stock steering wheel. The top is also new with a zip down rear window. The plastic is still very clear. New rubber seals in doors and vent windows. Seats in very good shape with head rests. Roll bar and cover for the top when it is down. The car was painted a few months ago. All lights work and has nice halogen headlights. The master cylinder is new as are the rear wheel cylinders. New front brake pads on freshly turned rotors. There is no radio, but I just installed a new plastic radio and switch console. The center console has the arm pad and has no cracks. The speedometer is not original because of the overdrive unit, so I am not sure about mileage on the car. The speedo cable was broken when I got the car. It has been replaced. It has a new fuel tank with sender unit. A new electronic voltage stabilizer. The battery has been placed in the trunk and bolted down. The car body is in good shape. I replaced both floors, then insulated it and has new carpet, new sides on inside of doors, back wall, over the wheel arches and kick panels in foot wells. The body had some rust on it but I cut those out and replaced with metal. Feel free to call and ask or write here and ask about anything I might have missed. I have gone as far as I want and hope to find a good home for it. The title is clear and has current inspection and tags. There are no emission pieces on the car. I also have a few extras that go with the car. A set of front lowering springs, a Weber sidedraft carb and intake, a Weber dowdraft 2 barrel and some misc extra parts for the SU's. I have some extra guages and a new door panel that I felt didn't need to be used just yet and a manual for the car. It is not a documented car as far as previous owners and I have a few reciepts for the parts bought. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. On May-15-10 at 12:36:52 PDT, seller added the following information: RESERVE HAS BEEN LOWERED SIGNIFICANTLY, BUT CAN'T REMOVE IT AFTER BIDDING HAS STARTED.
