Vehicle Detail
Maintenance History: This vehicle has been taken care of very well over the years and has only been owned by two different parties, this car has always lived its life in a garage!, The body was re-done about 6 years ago, and is still in good condition, however there are a few spots that could use some work. My wife was a late bloomer, did not get her license till she was 25... She just did not want to learn how to drive. Being that she is an artist she wanted a classic car to have to learn how to drive. So I started looking and found this car for sale at an automotive shop. The original owner was a typical nice old lady who had 2 cars… both Volvos. She loved this car and took care of it, but had run her course with it. At that time it had about 27K miles on it. This was about 7 years ago. I bought the car, and then went and put about 2 grand of work into it to get it running. Everything from new injectors, to brake-work. After getting the car tuned, we spent another 5k to have the body re-done. Since then I have had the transmission rebuilt (1.5k), brakes (ended up being a flush), Power brake assist-rebuilt, master cylinder as a spare, multiple switches replaced to improve running, replaced manifold air pressure sensor and controller. Replaced alternator 2 times (first time was a hack job it seemed). We have done a lot of work on this car to get it to where it is today. There are other things that are needed to be done to make this car show room. I say show room because it’s closer to show room then just a running car. The truth is, this car is a runner and needs to be run. The more you run this car the better it will be. These older cars ran with Vacuum as the base for how everything did in performance. Being that this is a rare engine and a 50% carburetor, and a 50% fuel injection this statement about vacuum is even truer! We lost one of the beauty rings, but we have the other three. Our intentions where to eventually get another, just never got them back on the car. Always thought with green rims it would look really nice! As far as rust goes this car has spent its life in storage or a garage. It still has its original rust protective sealant that was installed on the car when it was sold in 74 from Pennsylvania. Between the care of the car and the preventative maintenance done to the car, its in actually good condition as far as rust goes. There are some areas I can see that will become issues in the future if not taken care of, but as far as my wife, and me we need to move on and this car just can't come with us. The interior has a couple of areas where the leather looks a bit worn, but still not bad considering the age of the car, and that its all original. We covered the front two seat because of the drivers seat was starting to get a tear in it, and just never got the time or money to re-do the interior. The plastic cover to the steering column is not on because of a broken piece of plastic that needs repair, the picture shows it off, but we have it.. think its in trunk. One of the Power window switches has a broken plastic tab, but works. These are things that can be fixed, just never got around to it... being that we don't hardly ever drive it anymore. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Some of the things I think the car could use: I think the car could use a radiator flush (I just had the hose and thermostat replaced, It seems to run a lot better when your moving. ran awesome on the free way! temperature wise. There are some things like putting the steering column back together (2 screws and a plastic cover after its fixed), placing the beauty rings on the door handle on the passenger door inside and on the tires as well if you can find 4 good ones. Over all there is little to do with this car IMP. I am noticing a few spots that need to be touched up to the body... nothing to crazy though. The car needs a good wd 40 treatment to a few not critical moving parts due to the lack of use as of late... but an over all clean car! Please feel free to contact us with any question that you might have about this great car. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
