Vehicle Detail
If I get long winded, I'm sorry; but this is my baby. I'm also going to try to tell everything I've done to it. It looks better in real life than in pictures, I guarantee it. 1990 Mazda Miata, 170,800 miles. 4 cyl, 5speed, elec windows, cruise, air conditioning, am-fm cassette, MP-3 hookup, fender flares, luggage rack. Just finished putting on rebuilt Dover Cylinder Head. Old head exhaust valves burnt and getting worn. Replaced timing belt, water pump, tensioner, thermostat, air cond belt and alt. belt. Also while head was off bores were measured with bore gauge and were still same as new measurements, no ring grove or scratches on cylinder walls. I put on new Eagle polished aluminum mags and 185/60/15 tires, which are larger than stock. Less than 5000 miles on them, still just like new. Jeff Anderson, Mazda radio guru in Florida reworked radio for me, New headrest speakers and wires, radio lights, fixes humidity intermitent problem, and wired in a MP-3 attachment plug, excess of $200. Also replaced all four calipers, rotors, and brakes. Also painted calipers and rotors to match car. One year ago I had a local Dent Wizard work on car for 2 days removing all door dings some small hail dings and anything else he could find, close to $500. Then I sanded complete car down and removed all chips and flaws in old paint. I reprimered, sprayed sealer, 3 coats of Miata Red basecoat, then 3 coats of clearcoat. After curing I spent 1 complete week hand wetsanding whole car with 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper, then again with 1500 grit w/d, then again with 2000 grit w/d. Then I buffed whole car with System One compound and wool bonnet. Then whole car again with System One and foam pad to take out wool swirls. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. One of the pictures is of the driver's door, a reflection of a '70 Road Runner convertible on it. Some bottles and the corregated wall also show up on it. I was just trying to show how good the shine is and the reflectability. The pictures do not do this car justice. I spent 2 days this week powerwashing the underneath and then undercoating the undercarriage. It looks great. I restored my wifes '93 Miata 4 years ago and the paint job still looks like new and she drives it to work everyday, weather permitting. No paint peeling or popping off or fading. With so much snow in Northern Missouri this winter we didn't drive either Miata much so I'm replacing mine with a 2001 Chev Tracker 4x4, yuck! But we need 2 4x4's and can't justify having 4 vehicles so mine must go. I also had a new tan convertible top professionally installed 2 years ago. It is the plastic rear window. I also had driver's seat repaired at same time. Last week I had glass shop put in a new windshield and gasket, I had cut old gasket back to windshield when I repainted car last year because I didn't want an edge for paint to peel. I also updated interior rearview mirror with a new version that has interior light wired into door switches and makes a lot of light at night for the interior. This car will last someone as long as they wish with proper maintenance. I can't believe there is a prettier '90 Miata in the country for the kind of money I am going to sell this car for. I guarantee it's prettier than the pictures or high bidder doesn't own it. Check my feedback. So far people have thought my cars were better than they expected. My feedback is perfect and I will keep it that way. I'm retired and can help with delivery up to 250 miles of 64652 zip code. I'm doing the Buy It Now of $4500. on car. This is way under the most recent repairs of over $1000. plus tires, wheels, new top, brakes, dent wizard, windshield, radio upgrade of over $2000. Not counting 3 weeks of work on the paint job plus material which would be a Bunch of money. The $4500. is way under my investment but I'm making a big deduction for all the fun we've had with it. Dollar for dollar these are the funnest vehicles on the road. My wife and I drove it through the Colorado Rockies a few years ago in early winter with top down and heater on and had a blast, especially on the switchbacks. This car will go around curves way faster than your stomach can! Our 2 year old grandson calls my wifes Miata Lightning McQueen, I will let the eyes on the sunscreen go with it. I do reserve the right to end auctuion early for a local sale so if you're interested hit the buy it now. I restore vehicles I like and I am very, very, very particular. Any questions please call 660-359-7642 before 10:00 pm central and after 9:00 A.M in morning. ENJOY. I have not detailed the inside when I took pictures but I will this week. I reserve the right to end this auction early as it is for sale locally as well.
