Vehicle Detail

1981 BMW 323i E21 Baur Convertible Meticulously maintained 1981 323i Baur. The pictures speak for themselves, this car is one of the nicest E21 model BMW’s you’ll find. The body is nearly rust free (originally a California car). Both the targa hard top and the soft top were recently renewed. The car also comes with the cover for the rear top when its down to cover/protect it. 17” BBS RC rims with Yokohama low profile tires. Plenty of tread left. Vented rotors all around with new stainless steel brake lines all around. Also new rear pads. 2.3 Liter - 6 Cylinder Engine Timing belt/water pump and full tune less than 2k miles ago. Interior is mint. Recaros are like new. The dash does have a BavAuto cover on it – but you can’t tell. Momo steering wheel and matching shift knob. 49,700k on odometer. Actual body has about 250k but the engine was rebuilt by the previous owner (about 10k miles). There is a mileage discrepancy because when the car was redone they put in a 160MPH odometer which set the mileage back to around 36k. Always starts right up – except for when the battery died over the winter. Oh yeah – new battery. Eibach springs and Koni adjustable shocks. Front sway bar. Supersprint exhaust Clean CARFAX back to 1993 other than the mileage discrepancy described above. Bonus items: Brand new Pioneer CD/MP3 player with removable face plate. Two front Eclipse speakers and two rear Cerwin Vegas. Steering wheel control for radio. That’s right – change the volume, station, song function etc. right from the steering wheel. No need to look down. I don’t think you’ll find that in too many 1981 cars. Alarm with REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (two remotes plus a 3rd key). Power locks were retro fitted on and work great. Its so nice not to have to use a key to unlock the door. Set of Ken Danielson’s bumper brackets for tucking the front bumper. Certified appraisal of the car done in 2007 prior to the stereo and the remote keyless being added. Valued at $10,000. Full set of E21 Manuals - electronic PDF version. Details every system in the car bumper to bumper - great reference. The bad: A few very small rust spots. One above the rear light inside the trunk and one inside the door jam on the passenger side. You’ll need a trained eye to find them but I want to disclose everything. Both EZ touch ups, but this car does not see rain and any time I wash her everything gets wiped down, so I’ve left them since you can’t see them. Small pimple in the hood from where someone probably closed the hood when the fuse cover was loose. Again EZ fix but not really noticeable. The car is garaged in Wakefield, MA. There are several members on the Bimmer forum that have seen the car and I’m sure would be happy to comment or give an honest opinion for any out of state folks. Buyers are encouraged to come and see in person. Buyer assumes ALL responsibility for pickup or shipping of vehicle.
