I have a beautifully restored 1981 Chevy step side short bed pick up truck. It is the base model. 250 straight six with 3 speed manual transmission, the Hurst shifter is on the floor. This truck is very basic and simple. Very easy to work on and very little to go wrong. It does have the factory gauge package and a good stereo. I have spent a ton of money getting this truck to it's present condition, I have some records from a previous owner showing oil changes, brakes, etc. it also notes a new engine but all I have are these notes. I believe it may have a new engine because it is so clean in and out, the great vacuum reading, and how it runs perfectly. I also have almost all receipts for the work and parts that I have done . The interior is in excellent shape. The exterior is in excellent shape too, it has no rust, some new metal and all new paint (Dupont) , Also many new parts like F & R chrome bumpers, front bumper is an NOS GM part, mirrors, door handles, complete tail light assemblies, license plate light assembly, window sweep weather strips, marker lights, fender emblems, NOS grill emblem. New bed light assembly, new interior light assembly, new door jamb light switches. All new dash bulbs (all work) even the fiber optic light for the ash tray. New cigarette lighter housing and element, new halogen headlights, new tailgate chains and hardware and clear covers, the driver's door has brand new upper and lower hinges, etc., etc. The underside is solid. The frame has been cleaned and painted with gloss black rust-o-leum. Suspension has also been cleaned and coated. The exhaust system is stock and still has a catalytic convertor and a new heat shield is installed under the bed wood. The bed is very nice and it's a golden oak color. It has all new bed strips and hardware. The wood is top quality exterior finished proper thickness plywood that has been stained golden oak and clear coated three times with clear gloss exterior varnish. All of the old wood was removed prior and all of the supports are also cleaned and painted with Rust-o-leum. It runs, shifts, steers and stops fine. Drives straight and stops straight. It has lots of new mechanical parts too like the heater core, carburetor, headlight switch, high beam switch, all hoses, thermostat, front parking brake cable, tune up, the transmission has been freshly gone through and any worn parts were replaced with new, It also has a new clutch kit that includes the new clutch plate, pressure plate, throw out bearing and pilot bearing, the flywheel was resurfaced at the same time. the transmission and clutch work perfect, also has a "Delco" battery. Everything works properly and it needs no work and it shows very well. It is the original white color with one repaint, it has been wet sanded and polished to a beautiful shine. The interior is blue and in excellent shape. The windows go up and down nicely and don't come off the track like some do. the door locks work fine too. It also has a sliding back window. The 4 rally wheels are in excellent shape as well as the tires, trim rings and center caps. It has a fifth rally wheel as the spare with a just about brand new spare and the wheel looks great too. A new valve cover gasket was just recently installed and I noticed that the top of the engine workings (rockers, etc.) are very clean, Always A very good sign. Plus I took a vacuum reading and got 20 ins. of vacuum and rock steady, the best you could ask for. Lots of time and money have been put into this truck as you can see.
