Vehicle Detail
Looking for a great car that you can drive while putting on the finishing touches? Does that car also have to be rare enough that you probably will not see another one around no matter how hard you look? And lastly, does it have to be a convertible so that you can enjoy the upcoming warm weather? Well look no further! This Cadillac is all that and more! Check out this 1987 Cadillac Allante brought to you by the car guys at D & A Auto Sales! The Allante was Cadillacs's first venture into the ultra-luxury roadster market. Originally designed under the code name "Callisto", the Allante was intended to restore Cadillac to its position as a premium luxury automobile builder. The Allante was initially priced at $54,700, far above the price of any other Cadillac at the time. This first year edition of the Allante is powered by a 4.1 liter V8 engine that produces 170 horsepower and 235 ft/lbs of torque while still getting decent fuel economy. It runs well, but a tune-up would help it out immensely. A four-speed automatic transmission puts the power down to the rear wheels while four wheel disc brakes provide the stopping power. A new master cylinder for the brakes is recommended. The car still stops, but nowhere near as good as it should. The interior is in average shape. As you can see from the pictures, the seats and center arm rest will need to refurbished if you plan on totally restoring the car. The door panels, dash, carpet, and headliner are all in good shape. The electronic gauges work as they should, as does the onboard vehicle diagnostic system. The interior is very unique and easy to see that the Allante was well ahead of its time! The exterior styling of the car is also very unique. It was designed by Pininfarina, the same styling house that created many of Ferrari's timeless looks. The burgandy paint is in decent shape for its age. It has some small dings and scratches throughout the car, and the front fascia has been broken and is missing the passenger side area which can be seen in the pictures. All of the lights are in good shape, as is the black convertible top. Factory alloy wheels compliment the overall design of the car and are wrapped in good tires. Put a little money into this car and you will have an awesome ride! So don't let your chance to get an awesome piece of automotive history at a low price pass you by! Be confident that this car is as described. But please remember, even though the Cadillac is in decent shape both mechanically and cosmetically, it is 23 years old and needs some work. The new owner will be happy with his or her new car, and all bidders will be happy with the low reserve auction! Now for the boring, yet necessary part. This Cadillac is being sold by D & A Auto Sales, a licensed and bonded California dealer. Winning bid does not include license, registration, or any applicable fees. California buyers will pay state sales tax. The auction may end early, or the odometer reading may change slightly due to it being listed locally and taken on test drives. I will answer all questions as quickly as possible, or for a more immediate response, dial 909-874-0567 and ask for the internet department. Please do not bid unless you plan on paying for the car! You may come and inspect the Allante at your convenience before the end of the auction. Winning bidder is responsible for shipping, but we will help in arranging it. We will also provide free of charge pickup from the closest international airport (Ontario, Ca) to our dealership. Thanks, and good luck!
