Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I bought this car 6 years ago and spent three years completely restoring it from the ground up. It was taken down to bare metal. I have over 32k invested and a couple thousand hours and enjoyed every minute of this project, but it’s time to move on a get another project. When I bought this car the engine and transmission had just been rebuilt so I don’t know what all is in the engine, it’s the stock 351W with the FMX transmission. I have no idea of the true mileage on the body as the instrument cluster was replaced with one that has the tach. Everything in the interior was refurbished or replaced as was everything on the exterior. If you are looking for an all original car this is not the one. I built a car that turned heads and looked original but it has many aftermarket parts. What I did: Interior – new seat covers, carpet, headliner, dash pad door panels, speakers, radio, Interior – had professional rebuilt, clock wood grain insert, instrument cluster wood grain insert, center console, wood grain steer wheel (although the picture show an aftermarket steering wheel, it’s been replaced with the wood grain with the horn in the rime$750). Interior – added new map light, center console gauges (where ash tray was). Replaced all glass with tinted with exception of rear glass. Upgraded door glasses with 1970 model, if you know 69 Mustangs they always had problems with the glue not holding. Exterior – body was taken down to bare metal and painted the correct color of Candy Apple Red and flat back hood for the 69 Mach I, note it was not the original color this VIN, paint and body work cost over 9K. All lights, trim, emblems etc… was replaced with new aftermarket with exception to windshield and back window trim and the tail lights. Added new front and rear spoilers and rear window louvers, 15” Magnum 500 rims with correct tires Suspension – I took the enter underbody down to bare metal, primed and painted black, replace shocks, brakes, hardware, lines, stainless steel exhaust, front disc brakes, ball joints, enter steering system to include the gear box. Everything was replaced and detailed. Engine compartment – remove engine and transmission and detailed completely. Took engine compartment to bare metal and repainted, replaced all belts, hose, etc.. with new. Replaced the enter AC system with R134 systems, replaced heater core. I have hundreds of pictures detailing the entire restoration. A few things to note that need to be fixed. Both doors have a few small bubbles starting at the bottom. I have a ½ gal of paint that matches the car. The transmission pan leaks a little fluid. I replaced the gasket but the pan must be warped. It needs to be taken off and straightened or replaced. I would also like to mention that years before I bought this car someone had cut a sun roof in the top. I had the patch removed when I the car was painted and a piece of metal completely welded in with interior support structures. Most people will never see anything, but I can see it when the sun hits it just right and because I know it’s there. I just wanted to mention this.
