Vehicle Detail

This car has been babied for years, but a blown head gasket a few days ago means I have to let her go. It has been dealer-maintained since I bought her in 2003. This car has been my hobby for the past couple of years, and has many upgrades:Type II V6 3.2L EngineRemus Cat-Back Exhaust System (more info at http://www.remusexhaustshop.com/acura-legend-p-3.html)Performance Chipped ECU by SR5Guy (More info at http://www.acura-legend.com/vbulletin/f44/sr5guy-performance-chipped-engine-computers-131946/)Custom two-tone Katzkin Leather Interior (More info at http://www.katzkin.com) Professionally painted in 2008Both CV axles were replaced two months ago17-inch RimsFalken Ziex ZE-912 tires July 2009Real burl walnut wood trim (from LS model)Custom Cold-Air IntakeDrilled Brake RotorsOn Apr-30-10 at 18:50:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Some additional information from an email question: What is the car's original color, and what was the reason for the new paint? If the color was changed, was everything painted like the door jambs firewall, trunk, etc. It was originally green. The only issue with the paint is that the driver's door handle broke (common after a lot of years) and was replaced. The handle was painted along with the rest of the car, but from use of the key it has some scratches and you can see a little bit of the red paint underneath. The door jams and such weren't painted, but they match, so its not noticeable at all. The car was painted because someone hit my driver's side door. The door was replaced, and they wanted to just paint/match the door, but I payed an extra $1.5K to get the whole car painted. Its really glossy and has a nice metallic chip depth to it, and the shop guarantees their work for 10 years. They're a high-end shop. There are three little spots where the paint was chipped and repaired. One on the to of the fender, really small and touched up. The other two are on the spoiler where a bicycle rack rubbed, and the paint was touched up. There is also a very small ding in the center of the roof which is hardly noticeable, unless you know what you're looking for. When the head gasket blew, how many miles do you think the car was driven? How hot did it get & for how long, and how many times before you realized it was the head gasket. How far can you drive it before the temperature starts to spike? It was driven about 30 miles after the head gasket blew. I was really careful to keep it moving and the temperature stayed in the middle except three times when stopped at lights. It got up to two ticks below H (maybe 8 out of 10) for about 4 minutes total. The temp stay moderate as long as the engine isn't idling. Its probably fairly drivable, as long as there's no stop-and-go traffic, if you don't mind the smell of antifreeze and make sure the coolant is topped off. Does everything on the car work? ie.) Air conditioning blows cold , power antenna goes up & down, all windows, locks, steering wheel controls, sunroof, etc. AC blows cold. The power antenna recently broke. The motor is fine, but the plastic part of the antenna mast broke. All the power stuff works. The steering wheel controls work fine. The stereo isn't included, but I had the steering wheel controls hooked up to the oem stereo until that went out, and then had it controlling my alpine head unit. How's the glass...any cracks? There's a really small chip in the top-center of the windshield, which is actually hidden by the rear-view mirror when driving, but that's the only one I've seen. Does the car have a CD player? Are the speakers factory? How's the sound? It does have a pioneer CD changer, but the receiver is not included. The speakers are Pioneer and aren't anything fancy. If I kept the car, they'd be on my list to replace. Do you know of any accidents, and if so, how serious? There was just the one accident. A guy hit my driver's side door at a fairly low speed in a Costco parking lot. You can't tell at all. The only issue I know of is the track for the driver's side window is a little loose, but other than that, you'd never know. Are you willing to send me more pictures if I ask for specific ones? Sure. Its sitting outside. Any rust (previously)? No rust. We don't really get snow around here, so the bodies in good shape. Do you have the original rims, (and if so) would these be included? Sorry, sold the original rims a few years ago. They were the L wheels anyway, the 15 inch alloys. On May-01-10 at 18:07:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a couple of things I haven't mentioned. It passed February Virginia State Inspection in February, which was also when the CV axles were replaced. The battery was replaced 9/09, and has a 3 year free replacement, 84-month pro-rated replacement.I'm keeping the stereo receiver/head unit, but it does include the Alpine CD changer. It still has the original manual in the glove box!I'm including the original ECU, and extra leather from the interior installation. An Acura-Legend specific car-cover is also included. On May-03-10 at 11:39:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to be clear about the ECU. Both ECU's are included in the sale. The chipped ECU is installed, and the original ECU is also included (in a padded box), if the buyer wants to go for economy over performance. As to why I'm selling the car instead of getting the head gasket repaired and driving it for another 200K: I was planning to sell the car in the near future before the gasket blew. We just had our fourth kid on Easter (our oldest is 5), and I've been informed I have to have at least a 4 door for my daily driver. I really hate to let this car go, but I have to do what I have to do.
