BMW 2003 R1150 R Metallic Titan Silver For sale is a great all-around BMW motorcycle - can get you back and forth to work with your gear, take off the side bags and you can zip around some fun winding roads on the weekends and it's cool enough to ride with the Harley guys on Sundays.This bike is a pleasure to ride, the opposed-cylinder BWM models result in exremely well-balanced motorcycles that rip along the straights and melt into the turns. (I have two of these bikes and one leaking roof on my house, so unfortunately one bike has to go). The bike starts immediately every time and runs great, has been garaged in winter and covered when not in use during the warmer months. Excellent gas mileage if used as a commuter bike (as I have done). Bike includes a touring BMW fairing (higher then sport windshield), new battery this month, two-level heated hand grips (low and high settings), includes BMW hard bags shown in photos (keyed alike to bike key), aux power jack, 6 speed transmission shaft drive, Corbin seat designed for two-up riding. Well-maintained with BMW 6,000 mile service just completed by BMW master mechanic at Cliff's Cycle Revolution in Danbury CT (all paperwork available for verification). The 6,000 mile service was performed according to BMW specifications, as recommended. I have service records, records of last service (the 6,000 mile mentioned above), and new registration. The old registration is visible in the photos but bike now has new tags on it which are good thru 4/2011 in New York State. The bike required nothing at the service, the mechanic suggested the oil sight glass be replaced due to a very slight leak which was barely noticable but now as per the mechanic the bike is absolutely sound. Tires are in good shape, with a reasonable amount of tread left on them (see photos). This bike can be picked up and ridden anywhere you choose. Blems: The bike has a small dent in the tank a bit smaller then a dime. The previous owner did not mention this when I bought the bike and had no explanation for it. The tank also has a surface scratch on the same side of the tank, which was also not mentioned when I bought the bike, also with no explanation. I suspect the previous rider was a little quick with the keys or perhaps tank bag (both blems are on the left side of the tank where the bike is most commonly mounted/dismounted). Neither item affect performance and are not blatantly obvious, but are mentioned in the interest of full disclosure - I have tried to represent both items in the photos, and the bike in general as accurately as possible. Left valve cover scuffed as well, please see photos. I have the clear title in hand, will need a 500.00 deposit at auction end and full payment within 7 days of auction completion. I will not ship but I will do anything reasonably possible to assist shipping at this end such as meeting agents of a reputable shipping company and faciliting loading of bike here after full payment is made.
