Vehicle Detail
I'm selling a 1972 Cadillac Coupe DeVille for parts or restoration. I bought it almost 2 yrs. ago as a restoration project. During that time period i took on 2 other projects also. The other 2 projects required less time and money, so therefore have pushed this restoration back. Now I kind of lost interest in it. I would rather sell it to someone who can use it, than to continue to just let it sit in my driveway. If you're going to restore it these are some things you need to know. I have not done anything mechanical to the car since i bought it. The car is in need of a tune-up, it hesitates a little when you floor it. Even with the hesitation it still did a nice little burnout in my driveway this past weekend. It has a big block 472 (7.7 litre) motor. The engine does not look pretty as you can see in the picture but it starts up every time without a problem. It does Not smoke. It needs a neutral safety switch, so you have to start the car in neutral. Power locks and windows work. Rear windows come off track if you let them all the way down. Seats are in very good condition and power buttons work. Heat works. Blower constantly runs somtimes. You can just unplug the blower. It has ac, but i havent charged it to see if compressor works. Wipers work. Transmission shifts smoothly. As you can see in the pictures there are two rust holes on the back deck below the window. They will allow water into the trunk, the firewall also leaks, so the car should be covered. I drive the car around the block a few times every couple of months and i've noticed that the brake pedal gets rock hard sometimes, so i guess the power booster is starting to go. Because of that, I must insist that the car be towed. I don't want the winner to get into an accident. As you can see in the pictures the nose on the hood is pretty rusty and the bottom of the fenders are starting to rust out which is a common problem on this body style. The body is straight as a board, no accidents. It's kind of weird, except for the nose, the paint on the rest of the car is excellent. The car seems to have been painted recently, but i guess proper rust prevention wasnt done. Well, I didnt drive the car regularly so I've gone over eveything I've noticed to the best of my knowledge. This car is definitely not a lost. If I didnt take on so many other projects, I definitely would have put it back together. I've seen many classics in way worse condition than this, not even running and the owners were asking for way more than what I'm starting this auction at. The interior, motor, and trans is worth more than i'm asking for. This is a PICK UP ONLY AUCTION. NO SHIPPING. Any bidders with less than 5 feedbacks must contact me first before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. Car sold AS-IS. Thank You, good luck.
