Vehicle Detail

This is a very nice 1964 Chevy Impala SS. Cosmetically it is not new but in spectactular shape for its age. The interior is 100% all original and in awesome shape. I am the 3rd owner of this car and it has been garage kept its entire life. It has never seen snow and is merely a toy car. The mileage is correct and counting as I do take it out to go for a quick cruise on the nice days. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, it is totally street legal and dependable. In the last 2 years I have completely gone through this car to make sure it is mechanically sound and ready for thousands of miles of trouble-free travel. This car was factor-equipped with air conditioning that I have removed from the car. I have all factory pieces that were removed that will be included with the car in case you would like to put it back on. I also have the factory SS wheels and tires that came off the car that I will include as well. I have lots of additional parts that come with the car including: misc. replacement chrome pieces, weatherstripping kit, etc. all from Classic Industries and brand new in the package. I will also include the factory fender skirts in perfect condition with the car. I only removed them because I like the look without them better. Modifications include (all within 5,000 miles or less): Chevy 355ci shorblock crate engine Lunati performance camshaft (have cam card) GM Bowtie 2.02 Heads Harland Sharpe roller rockers Turbo 350 trans professionally built to handle up to 750hp 2,500 Stall Torque converter TCI shift kit Holley 750 carb with vacuum secondaries and electric choke Holley Street Dominator aluminum intake manifold Headman Long-tube headers Dynomax mufflers Professionally done exhaust (duals w/exits right in front of the rear tire) 3-core high capacity radiator Complete wiring harness for engine was replaced at time of engine installation Hurst shifter custom fit to work in factory center console without any modifications Autometer 5 inch monster tach w/shift light New coil springs just installed in the rear of the car and I have brand new ones for the front that will be included with sale This car has been meticulously maintained and is outstanding shape, but does have a few minor details that need attention to make it perfect. The power brake booster needs to be replaced to be back to factory-original stopping condition as it is weak but still totally driveable. The slave cylinder for the power steering has a leak and needs to be replaced. The original dash does have a crack that is approx. 4 inches long. There is a spot approximately 2-3 inches in diameter where the paint is bubbling on the front fender and the very bottom right behind the front wheel on the passenger side but there is no paint missing. There is a crack in the rear quarter panel at the top where it meets the hard top. Anyone familiar with these cars knows that this is a notorious problem and easily repairable. There is minor rust on the passenger side floor pan directly below the passenger seat on the underneath side of the car. It is merely surface rust and not visible underneath the carpet on the inside. These are the only downsides to a beautiful car that I have found since I have owned the car. I was told that the previous owner had to have minor repairs done to the passenger side rear quarter panel in the mid-70's due to a minor accident with another car. The seam at the door to the rear quarter is not flawless, but looks great and would only be noticed if it was pointed it out to you. I am probably being overly-critical of the car, but want to be as honest as possible so that there are absolutely no disappointments with this beautiful ride. Please feel free to ask any and all questions before bidding, or contact me for additional pictures if there is something specific you would like me to take a picture of. It is best to reach me via email, but you can call and leave me a message at 517-599-0669 and I will return your call when I am available. This is a no reserve auction and the car will be sold to the highest bidder. I do not want to see it go, but due to a change in my financial situation I am forced to sell it. This car is in great shape and mechanically sound, but due to the fact that it is a used vehicle it will be sold "as is" with no warranty. I can help with pick-up/delivery within a reasonable distance, but those arrangements must be made with me prior to the auction ending. Thanks and happy bidding!
