This is a two owner Mercedes which has lived the majority of its life Seattle, WA. It was originally purchased on June 28th, 1974 at Phil Smart Mercedes in Seattle, WA by original owner Walter Schoenfeld. The car was brought to California around 1998 where the car had two more owners in the Palm Springs area. It has remained the pride and joy of its last 3 owners, and now is being offered to a new caretaker. This car is fully documented with over $19,000 in service receipts, all of which document the low miles and exceptional service history. The paint on the car is finished in it gorgeous original color of Code 387 Blue Metallic and is in overall nice condition. It was repainted a few years ago with a nice driver quality paint job. The car doesn't have a single ding and only shows a few chips on the hard top from moving during storage. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as any west coast car should be. The car is riding on nice, original Mercedes 14" chrome hubcaps with radial tires. All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in great shape. The navy blue soft top was replaced in 2002, and is in excellent condition, and the plastic windows are not scratched or yellowed in the slightest. The hard top has good seals and the headliner is in awesome shape. Overall the exterior appearance of this car is a 9 out of 10. The interior is also in very good shape all around. The door panels and carpets are in like new condition. The dash has had a cap in the past an has since developed a few more cracks. The blue vinyl seats are all in good condition but do show a few small cuts and a few repair spots. The car has a brand new set of Mercedes floor mats. All dials and controls function as they should, power windows and antenna also are fully functional. The sound system is also very nice with the Sony radio. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk is all complete with the original rubber mat, original Dunlop spare, correct jack and a complete tool kit. Mechanically, this SL runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. It drives as good now as the day it rolled of the lot. The V8 engine is surprisingly quick and responsive. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The car was always regularly serviced by Mercedes authorized dealers. The service book is stamped for all regular oil changes up to about 50k. Over the previous 15 years many large repairs were done including a valve job, complete front end rebuild, power steering rebuild, head gaskets, master cylinder, fuel injectors, convertible top, and much more. I have all receipts totaling over $19,000 in service work done on the car. If something was ever wrong with the car, it was always fixed. Most recently in the last 100 miles the car has had a fresh oil change and new front brake pads and rotors installed!
