The XJS is a luxury grand tourer that was produced by Jaguar from 1976 until 1996 in Coventry, England. The XJS was the replacement for the legendary E-Type in September 1975, and was based on the XJ Saloon. The XJS is considered a competent grand tourer, and is more aerodynamic than the E-Type it replaced. This classy British convertible is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 that produces 304 hp and an amazing 322 ft/lbs of torque while still getting decent fuel economy. A four speed automatic transmission puts that ample power down to the rear wheels and delivers silky smooth shifting while driving casually and sharp, brisk upshifts with more spirited driving. Stopping this beauty are four-wheel disc brakes that feel very firm. This car is really a pleasure to drive! This particular XJS is presented in one of the most highly sought after color combos - black on white. The exterior is in good shape, having only a fraction of the imperfections you would expect on a car its age. The body is very straight, and the paint has been maintained pretty well. The black cloth top is in fair shape, but as you can see by the pictures, there are a couple of places where the stitching has come apart. Factory spoke wheels with good tires compliment the styling of the Jaguar, while a rear spoiler adds that sporty touch that is just perfect! The chrome is in good shape, and adding a custom look to the car are the blacked out taillights. I have said it before, this car looks great! The interior is in pretty good shape, but a thorough cleaning would work wonders. The white leather seats are comfortable, and are in fairly good shape. They are fully powered as well. They do have the usual wear marks of leather seats there age, especially the drivers side seat. The dash is in great shape, as are the headliner and the carpet. Door panels are also good. Burled wood trim adds a cozy, luxurious feel to the cockpit. A great sounding factory cassette player provides the driving soundtrack. Or you could just listen to the growl of the motor and the sounds of open air cruising with the top down! Two levers to pull and one button to push is all that separates you from the elements! So don't let your chance to drive an awesome luxury convertible at a low price pass you by! Be confident that this car is as nice as described. But please remember, even though the Jaguar is in good shape both mechanically and cosmetically, it is 16 years old and is not perfect.
