1985 Mustang GT 5.0 up for auction, no reserve, last bidder up will own it at end of auction. THE GOOD: Engine, transmission and rear are original to car and I have inspected engine and trans #'s and they match VIN, very late production car. Only 2 known VINS are later. THIS CAR HAS NO KNOWN MODIFICATIONS, it is stone stock. I am the third owner, second owner owned since 1989 and was a Ford technician. This vehicle was my daily driver and runs strong, drives well and stops. Paint and all body panels appear to be original. Car sat for approx. 10 years, so new are tires, radiator, water pump, front calipers and hoses, master cylinder and battery. This GT has no rust on lower body, only a small amount at sunroof, normal for this body style. Carburetor and dual snorkel air cleaner are original, as is radio. Fly in and drive home. THE BAD: This GT smokes from sitting, may be valve seals but I am not sure. It runs strong and does not miss but smokes. Car is weathered from Florida sun and will need paint, dash pad etc. Will need a proportioning valve as brake light is on, all brakes work but rears will lock under panic stop. Left power window is inoperative as are the power door locks. A/C compressor is missing main suction hose and drier. Right door will not open as I do not have any door keys, left door opens fine. This car is 25 years old, original and not perfect. Right front bumper cover is split at moulding but is repairable in my opinion, I have a replacement fog lamp as right front is broken. THE UGLY: None in my opinion. Options: A/C, power door locks, power windows, light group, premium sound, sunroof. Daily driver 1985 GT, last year for carburetor, runs strong and is very original.
