According to The LaSalle book I have there were only a couple of hundred Convertible Coupes built in 1937. How many survived? How many very original unrestored examples are out there? It can't be many. I have always thought that 1937 was the best year for the LaSalle, and of course the Convertible Coupe was the most glamourus of all the body styles offered. It was the first year for the return of the Cadillac V8 and the last year of the floor shift. This car has all the available options such as dual sidemounts, Rumble seat, Spotlight, Radio and Heater. Many Beleive the styling of the 1937 model to be the pinnacle of Harley Earl's baby Cadillac. This example has never been restored, and is all the better for it. I has had 1 repaint it looks like from new, and is the original color. It has simply been maintained in good driving condition since new, and never abused. It has been very well serviced and in the last few years has received new brake hydraulics, new Coker wide whitewall tires, fuel pump, water pump, rebuilt carb and recored radiator as well as a host of small things. It runs and drives very well and is tight. I intended to keep the car original and not restore it, however, the next owner might want to just so the cosmetics are top shelf. The high bidder will also receive with the car, an impressive array of 37 LaSalle books, framed period advertisements (over 20) and a framed Dealer brochure.
