Vehicle Detail
Offering my 1974 TR6 project. Due to medical reasons I’m unable to complete this project, which would have been my 5th TR6 restoration. Car had been sitting for years when I found it so flushed and cleaned the fuel tank, replaced the tank sender, fuel pump, lines and filter with new, rebuilt the carbs and replaced the choke cable with new. New plugs, points, condenser, cap, rotor and plug wires with a new battery and new starter. Flushed coolant, replaced the hoses, new water pump and thermostat. Rebuilt the front brake calipers with new pistons and seals, new brake hoses front and rear, flushed the brake fluid, rebuilt the brake master and replaced the brake reservoir. Rebuilt the clutch master and slave cylinder. The car starts easily and runs but still has a miss I haven’t been able to sort out, but I suspect the valves may be sticking. Engine doesn’t smoke, just has a miss. Body is solid. Trunk pan is solid. Frame has typical scale for its age. No evidence of accident damage. Both floor pans are soft with holes and should be replaced or patched. Given the amount of foam weatherstrip I found on the top windshield frame this car leaked onto the floors and wet carpets rusted the pans. The hard brittle old soft top was removed, the convertible top frame is complete and functional, just needs new top installed. Wood dash is bad, but all gauges work. Original radio works, but antenna is broken. New parts that come with the car include new L&R floor pans, new reflective stripe convertible top from The Roadster Factory with webbing, velcro and seals, new wood dash, new soft dash top and dash crash pads, upper door seals. Over $1500 in new parts come with the car. There is a nice black boot cover and a full cockpit cover along with the original bumper overriders. Car is Pimento Red with Black interior. Paint is poor, tires are like new. Unexpected open heart surgery with complications prevents me from continuing with several projects, so I need to start selling stuff and this car is the first to go. I had planned to do a frame up restoration on this car but life now has other ideas. Good project for the right buyer. Sold as is, no warranties of any kind. On Jan-24-19 at 05:10:24 PST, seller added the following information: Car is for sale locally and auction would obviously end if no longer available. If you would like more photos let me know. To answer some questions, no, the car is not yet road ready and needs more TLC to get there but it does run, the engine is not seized up. Yes, the other vehicles will be sold in the near future. On Jan-25-19 at 06:08:13 PST, seller added the following information: To answer questions for all, the car is not currently drivable, it does start and run, but I have not driven the car. Based on some comments this car does appear to have been an AC car but that was removed by prior owners except for some wiring and relays that are still in place. I have a clear Texas title in my name. The car will sell to the high bidder, there is no reserve and no buy it now though it is offered locally as previous.y noted. There are some additional small parts that go with the car, brake shoes, disc pads, gaskets, seals etc. I’ve added a few more photos. Ask any questions before the auction ends.
