The car will be sold with Alabama Registration and a Notarized Bill of Sale. These are what the buyer would take to their DMV to receive title in their state. Your local DMV will be familiar with this, even in California, North Carolina, Whereever…This is legal registration transferable to all 50 states, Foreign Countries, Etc..To pre-empt the question of true mileage – In Alabama, vehicles that are 10+ years old are considered exempt on mileage. Meaning they do not report it on titles. Also, in Alabama, they do not issue titles on Vehicles produced before 1983 only Registrations. The Alabama Registration has no space provided for mileage. They don’t even ask…or care at DMV on a Pre-83.The Alabama Registration is what one carries to get title, if your state issues titles to classics. Then, I suppose, you tell DMV current mileage, TMU, exceeds limits, whatever..So, the moral to this story, if you ever come across a claimed original low mileage classic that has Alabama history, Beware!
