This outstanding example of a 1994 Porsche 968 convertible has the classic 236 horsepower, 3.0L Variocam inline-four engine with Tiptronic transmission (VIN# WPOCA296XRS840446). This 968 was originally purchased on December 27, 1993 in Sacramento, California from Niello Imports. Based on service invoices, the car then made its way to Oregon, and to Virginia where I was privileged to purchase the vehicle from Elite Auto Wholesale, in Midlothian, Virginia in January, 2013. The mileage when I purchased the vehicle was 77,986 and the vehicle is being sold at a mileage of 82,800 miles. Under my ownership, the vehicle was used as a daily driver in Maryland during spring, summer, fall and the occasional winters’ day until I decided that it would make a perfect vehicle for Florida’s southwest coast where it has resided now for about 2 years. The vehicle was driven from Maryland to Florida without any issues. As a daily driver it has seen a little rain, but never snow and ice, and has always been garage-kept in both Maryland and Florida. This vehicle is one of only 2008 968 cabriolets imported into the US by Porsche, and 1 of only 442 Guards Red vehicles. The CarFax and Autocheck vehicle reports are clear and the Title is clean. As can be seen from the picture included of the Vehicle Identification Code sticker, the vehicle is Guards Red (L80K), has Tiptronic Transmission (249), AM/FM Cassette Becker Porsche CR-1 (331), Full Power (drivers) Seat (437), Cruise Control (454), Hi-Fi Sound System (490), and Remote CD Changer “CD-C1” (692).This vehicle is equipped with the factory 16″ Narrow Spoke Cup wheels, which are the standard wheel for the 968. All exterior plastics remain straight and in good condition, and the light housings remain bright and clear. The 968 interior is tan leather. The dash is free of cracks, and all interior features work as they should, including the clock, the temperature gauge and a very cold blowing A/C. The power-assisted roof also works without issues. The drivers’ seat is electrically adjustable for height, but manually adjustable for rake and fore-aft position. Light wear is visible on the driver seat, but the leather remains supple and in good condition. All carpeting is in excellent condition. The trunk is in excellent condition. The vehicle will also be sold with the following items:1. Complete set of original Porsche 968 workshop manuals, OEM Porsche Guards Red touch up paint, a replacement filler cap, OEM compressor for tire inflation, OEM Porsche 968 tiptronic gear lever cover for center consul, OEM Car Storage Cover, tonneau cover for when the top is downThis car is a survivor, not being restored back to new, with parts replaced only as needed. Since I purchased the car, I have had the following work completed:1. Pre-purchase Inspection and parts replacement (January 2013) including new timing belt/tensioner/chain, water pump, engine seal kit, as well as new tires (4) (April 2015), replacement AC Compressor, Receiver/Drier (May 2015), power steering pump (October 2015), alternator (May 2017) and new battery (September 2017).These are the highlights. All invoices that came with the car and collected during my ownership will be included with the sale. The car also comes with the original instruction manual, and the AM/FM Cassette Becker Porsche CR-1 instruction manual. Viewing and test driving of the vehicle is by appointment only.
