Vehicle Detail

Moving across the country, so we must sell our Volvo 240 wagon. No reserve auction! Car has been used as a daily driver since our purchase in spring 2016. We've also taken it on several trips to the Poconos and the NJ Shore from Philadelphia, and we even road tripped it up and back to Nova Scotia with no issues. It runs and drives well, and it has been a reliable ride for us. Appears to have been repainted and it's in pretty good shape. Interior also in nice shape for it's age. Work completed this year: alternator tested sourcing problem that turned out to be a loose wire, new front brake pads and rotors, new battery. In past 3 years of owning: new front ball joint, engine tune up (fluids, new spark plugs, new air filter), new distributor cap/ignition wires/rotor/coil wire, new tailgate wire harness, new radiator assembly, new fuel hose (tank to fuel pump), new rear muffler and tailpipe, new driveshaft center support and bearing. Oil was changed routinely. It was rear-ended in a hit and run accident shortly after we bought it. A new bumper assembly (used) with shock absorbers was installed, the transmission and motor mounts that sheared were replaced along with the neutral switch assembly, and a new taillight assembly was installed. The body damage to the tailgate and the rear passenger quarter panel can be seen in pictures. The rear passenger door is jammed shut due to the damage. Otherwise, the car is perfectly fine. Shortly after the accident we made the round trip Nova Scotia trip I mentioned. Some plastic parts inside have become brittle and broken like the door pockets (pictured) and the plastic snaps that hold the carpet in place. Dashboard has a plastic and carpet cover on it. AC doesn't blow cold and we've never attempted to fix it. Tailgate shocks no longer hold it up. Missing one hub cap. Recently developed slow leak in power steering that I won't have time to get looked at. Kenwood AM/FM/Cassette head unit works well. Car typically starts right up, but it has been taking a couple cranks in the morning now that it's so cold out. Runs smooth and shifts into/through all gears well while driving. Overdrive works. No significant rust, but some spots need attention near window bases/at tailgate damage (pictured). No warning lights on, and its Pennsylvania inspection is good through March 2019 (passed March 2018 with no issues). Comes with original manual and service receipts since our ownership. Clear PA title in hand. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to set up some time to check it out. Car is sold as is where is. We love the car, but time for a new owner!
