Vehicle Detail

NO DEALERS. This car needs someone willing to do the work themselves. This car is not conducive to a quick flip. For those of you in Florida, I can only show the car on weekends. I live 90 miles from where it is parked in Deland, FL. We are selling a fine example of a 1956 Ford Sunliner. My Dad is the owner and he has developed Alzheimer's so he is unable to drive anymore. This car was built as a driver, along with a few mods that a young man in 1956 would want to do. The car has a column shifter that operates a three speed + overdrive fourth gear. The engine was build by Powered By Ford in Orlando Florida more than 10 years ago. There is not a lot of miles on that complete rebuild of the engine. We are estimating between 6-8 thousand miles. The car has spent most of its time with us parked in the garage. According to Dad, the Y-Block was built as large as possible, but he does not remember the final displacement. It is at least a 312ci. This car is not perfect, but it is a great example of a driver. This thing cruises really well. It starts right up and idles well after some time on the choke. The carbs need some adjustment because the mixture is a bit rich at idle but at full throttle it acts lean because it falls flat on its face. Again, a carb adjustment and/or synchronizing is needed. The car has an AC system but it must be low on R134 because it will not cycle. The AC pulley does not have enough wrap so the belt does squeak some when the compressor is engaged. Simply adding an idler pulley to increase the wrap should take care of this issue. The hood latch needs adjustment at best, replacement at worst. I have another latch that Dad purchased to take care of this issue. Both door latches/strikers need adjustment. The top is in good shape. Interior is really nice. There are small rust bubbles at the bottom of both doors. The front fenders both need adjustment where they meet the doors. There is some contact between them so the paint is damaged there. There is Bondo on the front fenders and both doors. The floor was patched by previous owner. There is rust damage in the floor roughly between the back seat and the trunk. My Dad didn't do any bodywork to the car, only mechanical work. Every issue the car has is easily solved by a person with some skills. You can do the carb work and drive it as is. It is drivable right now, but you just can't use full throttle. Ask questions, and I will do my best to find the answers. Note: Since this was last listed, I was made aware there was more rust on the car than I knew about, and there is Bondo present. You will note that most of the description is about the negative aspects of the car. This is on purpose. I want you to have an accurate picture of the car's state, and not just some snake oil sales pitch. You are most likely going to buy the car unseen, and I want to minimize the unknowns.
