Vehicle Detail

Purchased back in 2003 with 11K miles on the clock. Used sparing and continually upgraded since, it now has about 20,300 miles and is one of the cleanest, best-preserved examples you will find. Since my ownership, it has run redline synthetic in the transmission and final drive and engine oil changed every 1K miles. It starts and drives like a brand new one. This year was notorious for the peeling chrome, everywhere it started, I stopped it; brake and shift pedals and footpegs have been stripped of the bad chrome and powdercoated to match the frame. This year had the taillight fixture that split around the bolt holes, I replaced it with the 2004 style that has hidden fasteners. This year had the crazy wire and cable wraps that disintegrate once they reach a certain age, all replaced with new, modern cable wrap. I've replaced most fasteners with stainless steel versions where ever possible. Brake and clutch hoses have been replaced with braided stainless hoses and that clutch hose in stainless is a scarce, rare item! Underside of both fenders has been rhino-lined so there won't ever be dents or chips in these fenders! Exhaust header studs have been replaced with ARP stainless and won't ever rust or deteriorate. This year had the clear-coat finish on the forks that goes all spidery after it reaches a certain age; fork tubes have been stripped to bare aluminum, professionally polished, all seals and o-rings replaced, and filled with fresh BMW fork oil. Seat leather has been re-dyed and frequently treated with leather conditioner, it has a nice patina and looks to be only half it's age. Both hubs have been powder coated to match the frame. The front spokes have been replaced with the stainless versions and front rim powder coated. Back rim, I had a Montauk spare laying around the garage and put that on. Rear hub is included in sale so you can build the correct spoke wheel. The BMW "Avantgarde handlebars" are installed along with risers from Hookijac, this setup cost me at least $800, buying the bars, then condition was not as expected, so sent them off for new chrome, then the risers, then all new brake hoses, etc. Tires and battery are recent, nothing to do here but drive it and enjoy it. Cannot be duplicated for this amount of money. Again, this is a SUPER CLEAN cruiser, one of the very best examples of those that have a few miles on them. Fly in to SRQ airport and drive it home.
