1983 SUZUKI GS1100ED 1 OWNER, ORIGINAL TITLE FROM 1983 , 2000+ ORIGINAL MILES Here’s the fact filled story behind this cycle owned by Mr Bruce Durham from Berwyn Illinois. Back in 04/23/1983 this GS1100E was purched at Town N Country Suzuki in Steger IL, Then highly modified around the 2000 mile mark with a 1325cc big bore kit with Wiseco high compression pistons, Head and case opened up, porting, Race cam and valve springs. The carbs are Mikuni 35mm flat slides with teflon coated throats - jetted for the Vance and Hines 4 into 1 exhaust. A custom forged crankshaft, Severe duty clutch and a Dyna 2000 ignition was thrown in the mix for reliability. The rear swing arm is stretched around 8” sporting sporting a custom 18” rear and 19” front wheels. Then added a after market oil cooler to keep the heat down. A Dual battery set up is used to start the high compression engine at 155WHP. Complementing the appearance of this cycle custom made blue hydraulic brake lines were added. The sky was the limit. On it’s maiden run at Road America Mr Durham crashed the bike in the grass doing light damage to the cycle and major damage to him. The GS1100E was then slightly dismantled, engine fogged and plugged then sat in a heated garage for the next 34 years. I have the original title from 1983 and 1987 temporary, 1987 & 1988 license plate stickers that were never stuck on the plate. I guess he had hopes of fixing it but was haunted by the incident at Road America. (The plates in the add are my Harley plates) November of 2018 I took on the reassembly of this machine. I had Fox Valley Cycle mount and balance some new tires, (Road Attack 2’s). Change the oil filter then fill it with 4 quarts of Amsoil 10w40. Addressing the damage to the cycle. The insturment cluster was ruined so I replaced the obsolete part with a used one but retaining the original speedometer. I also have whats left of the orignal cluster. Then replacing all 4 turn signals, Rear brake light assembly, Fuel lines with filters, both batteries and some new tires Road Attack 2's. Thats what it took to revive this monster of days gone by. “HAIL TO THE KING” On December 8th 2018 I drove this machine around the neighborhood for the first time in 34 years. It was like a new cycle, shifting flawlessly and accelerating like a bat out of hell - just insane. Speaking of the sprocket cover that has a pilot bearing + a gusset welded to the inside of the cover.
