Vehicle Detail

1975 Triumph Trident T160 Excellent Condition - Mostly Original I have for sale an increasingly rare 1975 Triumph Trident T160. This bike is in excellent condition and, with the exception of a Tri-Spark electronic ignition, is largely original. I spent a considerable amount of time and money to bring this bike back to its’ original glory, while striving to keep it as original as possible. All parts used were either NOS, or where NOS parts weren’t available, high quality European reproductions were employed. The result is a fantastic looking bike that looks great and runs well. The paint and chrome are excellent. All the gauges, lights, switches and horn work as they should. Internally, the clutch has been rebuilt using upgraded thrust bearings and ramp mechanism (Triples Unlimited). The carburetors are new, Amal Premiers. The ignition and wiring have been upgraded using Tri-Spark ignition and are trouble free. The brakes and master cylinders have been completely rebuilt with new high-quality replacement parts. The shocks are new, top quality Hagon replacements. The stop / tail light has been upgraded to a super bright LED matrix. All rubber parts, including hoses, bushing, grommets, etc. have been replaced where necessary. There have been additional upgrades and replacements to numerous to mention. In short, this is one of the nicest T160’s on the road today. In the interest of full disclosure, I will mention there is a minor problem with the starter motor, where on occasion the solenoid will hang for half a second after you release the key. This happens primarily in cold weather and has done it as long as I’ve owned the bike. It is more annoying than anything else and does not affect the operation of the starter. The fix is relatively simple and only involves lubricating the solenoid plunger. I was going to do this, but never got around to it. This is Chicago, winter is coming and I need the garage space for numerous other toys! As a result, I have priced this bike to sell and listed it way under its estimated market value. According to Hagerty’s valuation estimate, this bike should sell for a minimum of $8,000 and probably closer to $9,000. I am only asking $7,500. You will simply not find a better value on the internet, or elsewhere. I’ve tried to be thorough in my description of this great bike, but if I’ve missed something that’s of particular importance to you, then I encourage you to email me with your questions. I truly consider this bike to be one of the better, original T160’s for sale today and I want to be sure all your questions are answered. Here's a short video showing how easily the engine starts and runs. This is a cold start:, Watch. For additional information, visit the Hagerty's web site, Here.
