Vehicle Description Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 60+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2005 Volkswagen GTI 1.8T. I would rate the exterior of this GTI to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. Overall, this is a good looking vehicle. The black finish shines nicely for its age but does show some age in spots. Additionally, there are a few small rust bubbles under the paint here and there. Nothing bad, but I want to be sure to disclose it. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and rear hatch all open and close easily. All of the trim and moldings are present and show well. The optional multi spoke alloy wheels show well for their age and are wrapped in nice rubber with good tread all around. There is a crack in the windshield that runs side to side. It is in the field of vision so I would imagine most states would require that to be replaced before passing any safety inspections your state may have. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would also rate the interior of this GTI to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are expected wear but are presentable. The carpets also show some marks from age but are not excessively worn. The deeply bolstered leather sport seats are very supportive and comfortable. They do show commensurate wear for the age and mileage of this car so please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. It is also worth noting that I detect a smoke odor in the car as well. The power windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good through the factory speakers. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The cargo area is spacious and clean. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this GTI appears to be in good running and driving condition. The turbocharged 1.8L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older vehicle. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The turbocharged engine runs smooth and quiet. The turbo spools up quickly and makes great power. This GTI has an aftermarket cold air intake and perhaps and upgraded diverter valve and possibly a tune. All I know is that I was surprised by how quick this GTI is. Rolling into the throttle in first gear will easily break the tires loose. This old GTI runs like a stabbed rat. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes thorugh the five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be.
