Vehicle Description Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehcle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 80+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a very clean 2002 Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG with just 87k original miles. I will start off by saying that these are great cars. I had one identical to this several years ago as my everyday car. I bought it with 154k and ran it up to 178k before I sold it and I loved it. It pains me to sell this because it brings back memories of my old one. As a car guy, being in the car business can be a good and bad thing...and I usually end up falling in love with cars and keeping them, which is a habit I'm trying to break myself of. I would rate the exterior of this S55 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking sedan. It is finished in Brilliant Silver over Black leather interior. The finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect to find a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Merc. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. The factory soft close doors and trunk all work, too. All of the trim and moldings are present and show well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory staggered AMG alloy wheels give this powerful sedan an aggressive stance. Tire tread is average all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this S55 AMG came in. I would also rate the interior of this S55 AMG to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. Both front seats have built in massage, are power operated, heated and cooled. The seat plastics and storage compartments are all completely intact. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good through the factory BOSE speakers. There are steering wheel audio controls, too. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent temperature settings for both the driver and passenger. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. Rear seat passengers are treated to ample room and comfort. The rear peasant blocker raises and lowers smoothly. The trunk is spacious and clean. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this S55 AMG came in. How you see it is exactly how it came in...I didn't even wash it. Mechanically, this S55 appears to be in good running and driving condition. The hand built 5.5L 360hp V8 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The Active Body Control system appears to be working properly. This S55 keeps proper height and there are suspension errors or warning messages visible. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps proper temperature and feels strong. 360hp is nothing to sneeze at...but that's just the beginning of what makes these cars great. Coming from someone who owned one long term, the engine is just one component. The five speed automatic transmission is perfectly tuned and is more than capable of putting all of that power to the wheels, which put the power to the ground through extra wide alloy wheels with very aggressive performance tires. Shifts are clean and precise. Downshifts are intuitive...and gearing is critical. The S55's accelleration is linear and seemingly endless. The speedometer just keeps going and going. Out on the highway, these cars own the road. If you can be reasonable with your right foot, you'll get highway MPG's in the mid 20's. In my old S55, I averaged 22MPG per tank...which is respectable for a full sized luxury performance sedan. If you're feeling squirly, you can also do 140mph with the climate control on and one hand on the wood trimmed steering wheel. There is absolutely no situation where this car doesn't shine, save for maybe a blizzard. These cars love to be driven and can handle miles. Like I said, I ran my old one up to 178k and it's still on the road in Texas last I heard. Here is an opportunity to get your hands on a low mileage example of an exceptional automobile. With an original price tag of over $100,000...this 87k mile S55 is an absolute bargain when you consider how much car you're getting for the money. Serious buyers are welcome and encouraged to bid. If you need a loan, please be sure you have a rock solid approval before bidding as older cars can be tough to finance. Please also understand that owning one of these cars can be expensive. While the car has depreciated heavily from its original price, you must still maintain a $100,000 car. If you have to ask yourself whether or not you can afford to maintain this car, you can't...trust me. These are very complex automobiles and there is nothing cheap about them. Simply a proper oil change is over $100 (if you do it yourself). I'm not trying to come off as rude so please don't be offended by my bluntness. For buyers who are familiar with these cars, you get it. For those who are not familiar with these cars, I want to be 100% up front about what you're looking at getting into so you don't fall over the first time you take it in for service.
