It get more looks and compliments than most cars costing twice as much. Every time you walk up to it you just wonder why the hell didn't Ford do this? This car is a driver. The paint looks good from 10 feet, get closer and you can see stone chips and paint imperfections. A good wet sand and polish would do well though. The chrome trim is good and overall fit on the car is nice. Call this one a fun 'no guilt' driver. Since this one was a life long California car it has survived basically rust free. The floors, frame rails and torque boxes are beautiful and show no signs of rust or prior rust repair. Inside the interior has been restored with quality reproduction parts. The car has been enjoyed so expect some wear. Overall it does look very nice and is easily good enough for weekend show & shines. Under the hood the 390 has been fitted with long tube headers, aluminum intake manifold and performance ignition. The engine runs excellent with good power and a great exhaust note. The 4 speed transmission is a Top Loader which is widely regarded as the toughest 4 speed of the era. Shifting is a breeze with the Hurst Linkage. The clutch has excellent engagement as well. Braking is handled by a set of Kelsey Hayes 4-Piston Calipers in front and drums in the rear. This is a manual brake set up but works very well. The wheels are 17" and have performance rated radial tires. They fit excellent and really improve the handling dramatically in the corners over 14" & 15" tires.
