There is no one else that can point at their MG while saying " It's the Real McCoy" but since this MG was owned by a member of the famous McCoy family and had remained in the McCoy family until my neighbor purchased it from them, I feel comfortable in saying "THIS MGB IS THE REAL McCOY" I dont know maybe Im old , weird or a history buff but I think that fact is pretty cool. I know that Jay Leno would have a lot of laughs about it as he is probably one of the worlds largest car collectors an anything neat or different about a cars previous owner ALWAYS MAKES A DIFFERENCE. I guess its actually up to you bidders as I am listing this MG with NO RESERVE simply because I really dont know what its worth. I also need the money so please dont bid if you dont really want it because I will have to hear I TOLD YOU SO by all of my family who says no one ever pays for cars off eBay so PLEASE let me prove them wrong!*Facts I know for sure- my neighbor then spent $2700 in mechanical upgrades not including having it completely repainted. With all new light lenses and $100's of dollars worth of new parts still in the original boxes along with the "pull behind" tow bar set up included this auction starts off with close to $2000 worth of extra's the winning bidder can either install or sell. * I would say that all the floors, trunk, frame & rocker panels are 99.9% rust free ( which I heard is great for a MG as most are filled with rust) I even pulled the entire carpet out of the trunk so you could see for yourself. The paint does have some small surface rust bubbles on the exterior but none that bad enough to require any new panels or metal added, actually it was these few surface rust bubbles and the white paint over spray on the trim/molding because of the poor taping & prep work done by the body shop that caused my neighbor to just put the car in storage years ago ultimately resulting in me buying it before he retired to the Florida Keys. Otherwise I imagine it would have been hooked up behind his big uHaul truck heading to the beach when he moved and none of us would have ever gotten the chance to own this classic MG. I'm sorry but I guess thats just my womans way of looking at things because I think to much( Im told.) I'm a new eBay seller or anything seller until now so please just bare with me in my first few auctions while I get used to answering my phone all the time and checking my email daily. After preparing for the hurricane to hit us , I now have a lot of items out of storage or stored at friends of mine so decided that I am going to sell EVERYTHING rather than put back in storage or boxes . That includes a couple of classic cars, lots of antiques, boxes of OEM/NOS parts, electronics jewelry, signs & just about everything else under the sun. Even if you have no interest in this MG please check back daily as i will be posting A LOT of new no reserve auctions for everything I have. To me this cars interior is as nice as any 5 yr old car on the road today. Even though this MG has been in storage for quite some time it still "cold starts" with ease, immediately idels on its own and I can drive it around the neighborhood without any problems but some fresh fuel and a good tuneup would make all the difference I am told by my boyfriend! He also told me I need to mention it has 50lbs of oil pressure & has run at cool temps while we drove it around nearby his house. The top isnt perfect but it does do its job keeping rain off you ,opens and shuts in place. Obviously I mean when the top is attached with just 4 bolts, because you can see I like it best without the top on at all so thats how I have had it stored for the past few months. But I did include a couple of pictures with the top on , shut and locked into place when I first got it from my neighbor before I even washed it or cleaned it up. I also took multiple videos of myself riding around in the car to show that it "cold starts" with ease , runs & drives!I have the original luggage rack and all the trim pieces also! The tow behind high quality front tow bar unit was professionally installed which makes this MG a breeze to tow behind any vehicle with a trailer hitch by simply installing the 2 locking pens. This MG stays directly behind you while being towed by your family SUV or your everyday car to any vacation destination, race track , mountain get-a-way or on a cross country move! I invite anyone to come inspect this MG during the auction or send someone if you want to but for those who cant , the best I can say is that as far as I can tell for an original 40+ year old classic British sports car this MG is in much better shape than the others I have seen, Certainly a new top , misc cosmetic parts installed and some paint touch up would take care of the outside, the interior needs very little, such as hooking up the Pioneer CD player, to me its ready to let the Queen of England sit in, the engine , transmission, clutch, and suspension all seem to work as they should but in this womans opinion " everything should be tuned up or adjusted or whatever is usually done" I can only say what I know to be true or see with my own eyes ,this MGB starts with ease, idles on its own, doesnt smoke or knock and can be driven around the neighborhood with ease.
