The vehicle was free of rust and corrosion. Complete restoration performed during 1983 through 1985, Including disassembly of the front frame structure to the firewall, power coating of the frame structure, complete rebuilding of the engine, carburetors (repeated per June 2018), and associated equipment items, removal of the rear suspension assembly as well as power coating of the rear suspension crossmember box. All bearings have been replaced, all seals have been replaced, rubber bushings have been replaced, clutch, shocks, brakes and brake calibers have been replaced. All Hardware, i.e. nuts, bolts, and washers were replaced with stainless steel items. Chassis, engine and major equipment items have matching numbers in accordance with Jaguar factory records. The interior has been completely replaced by a professional classic car upholstery shop, and the body was blasted clean with walnut shells/glass beads prior to priming and repainting. The paint is a single stage acrylic enamel paint, and the result was so perfect that it has never been buffed. All chrome elements have been re-chromed. Wheel hubs and rims are chromed, and provided with polished stainless steel spokes.See photos for details on restoration. The car looks and drives perfect. The vehicle has been kept in garage since restoration. The car has been equipped with modern alternator and electronic ignition, and an extra electric fan has been installed in front of the radiator to provide extra cooling on hot days. A removable stereo speaker box with built-in amplifier is located in the rear compartment. After restoration, and to date, the car has been driven approximately 8000 miles and is routinely operated to keep it healthy.
