Vehicle Description Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1999 Volkswagen Beetle GLS with just 93k original miles. I would rate the exterior of this Beetle to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. It is finished in Silver Metallic over Black leather, which looks good. The finish shows its age, as you can see in the photos. I would describe this Beetle as a "city car", meaning that it has low miles and is well kept but you will see wear on the exterior that would be normally considered to be excessive for a low mileage vehicle. This comes from parking garages and being parked in close proximity to other vehicles on the street. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully as this car shows this sort of wear on both bumpers. The body itself is nice and straight. The hood and doors both open and close easily. For some reason, I cannot get the hatch or fuel door to open. There is a manual release for the fuel door so you'll at least be able to put gas in it until you figure out what is keeping the hatch from opening. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with good tread all around. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this Beetle to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and carpets are clean throughout the interior. The headliner shows some age and the shade is missing. Both front seats are heated. The optional leather seats are clean, comfortable and show minimal wear. The power windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good through the factory speakers. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. Mechanically, this Beetle appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 2.0L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps proper temperature and feels strong. This Beetle has a nearly indestructible powertrain set-up. The 2.0L engine is known to just run and run and run. With a five speed manual transmission behind it, this Beetle should run forever because you don't have to worry about the junky VW automatic transmission that came in these. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the desirable five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. If you're looking for a fun little get around car or maybe a commuter car that gets good fuel economy and is actually roomy, this little Beetle should be at the top of your list. This fee is considered due and payable, without demand, to Liberty Auto Exchange on the 8th day from the end of the auction.
