Vehicle Detail

Due to the huge success of my recent auction of my Candy Blue Green K0 and the subsequent messages I have received with so many kind comments about the restoration and questions about when I might have another one ready, I have decided to list this K1 in Candy Ruby Red. VIN # 1117629 ENG# 1117438 Build Date 8/71 This is one to keep and enjoy folks. You will be more than positively surprised when you see this one in person. It is absolutely stunning, and you will snicker every time you lay eyes on it. I have ridden it a few times around here and I live in a rural setting and people have been pulling off the road and following me to the next gas station only to admire it and reminisce about their youth. Amazing stuff. I purchased the bike from New York several year ago with just a Bill of Sale since the owner lost the title. Consequently, I had to apply for a bonded title here in Texas. I hold a plain Texas title in my name for the motorcycle with the previous owners name listed just like a normal title would, but there is a remark “Bonded Title” in a field on the right. I bought this motorcycle in an abandoned and neglected state. From the way it looked, someone parked it outside, near a shed and threw a blanket over it after just a short riding stint and forgot that he had it. The left side about 16 inches up from the ground was very rusted. I have some pictures before the restoration that I can send to the winning bidder if interested that show some of this. But the good thing was it had been ridden only a short period of time with just under 5000 miles. The reason I knew this was true, was from several tell tales like the well-preserved original gauges and the rubber parts that were soft and subtle all around the motorcycle like the hoses, the cam chain rollers, etc. The inside of the engine was pristine as well with no discoloration whatsoever, like from the factory. But when I knew for sure that this bike had been ridden scarcely and was parked for most of it’s life, was the fact that the wire connectors from the alternator/generator sitting inside the transmission cover were clear and soft, almost like new. Anyone who knows what I’m talking about will probably agree that these are in most cases burnt black and hard from the engine heat. I had to do little to the engine but replaced the top end gaskets and seals for good measure and gave the head a thorough cleaning and re-seated the valves and replaced the valve stem seals also for good measure. The bike runs fantastic, smooth and with lots of power and the unforgettable throaty exhaust note of an early CB750. It comes with a new Honda K1 seat and a new K0/K1 exhaust that I purchased from Japan. With that, and all the usual refinements I give my restorations, you are going to end up with a beautiful vintage motorcycle that feels and rides like you just left the dealership. You can take it to any show, ride it to your hearts content and/or admire it privately in your garage. You will not be disappointed! Enjoy the pictures and good luck bidding!
