I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honeslty to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2005 Subaru Forester 2.5X. I would rate the exterior of this Forester to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking sport utility wagon. It is finished in dark green over tan interior, which is a good color combination. The green finish shines nicely and looks smooth all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Subaru. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the trim and cladding is present and shows well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory steel wheels show well and are wrapped in nice rubber with good tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Forester came in. I would rate the interior of this Forester to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets show well for their age and are full looking throughout the interior. The cloth seats also show well for their age and are very comfortable. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows cold. The audio system is original and sounds good through the factory speakers. The cargo area is spacious and clean, too. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this Forester appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 2.5L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. You can hear a small exhaust leak, so you'll probably have to get that taken care of. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. The check engine light is on. The code is for no signal from one of the oxygen sensors. The automatic transission engages smoothly and shifts properly with zero issues. The AWD system is tested and working. It is worth noting that the center differential will bind up and hop during moderate to tight turns. During normal driving, the car behaves perfectly normal...you only experience the hopping when you go to make a turn. The best way I can describe it is like an old 4x4 truck trying to make a sharp turn. At some point, you'll have to replace the center diff, but it is getting around fine for now and will probably do so for the foreseeable future...just know that this condition exists and you'll have to deal with it at some point. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. If you're looking for a clean 4WD wagon, this Forester would be a good fit. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
