Vehicle Detail
2012 Triumph Thruxton, No reserve, Excellent. I'm the second owner of this bike, having bought it with 460 miles. This is a Triumph twin the way they are supposed to be....360 degree crank shaft, and air cooled! Factory fuel injection (though styled to look like CV carbs) and thoughtfully modified, this bike is great fun, smooth, torquey, powerful, and sounds amazing, through it's British customs exhaust! Also, and surprisingly, since this is a Thruxton, this is the most comfortable motorcycle I have ever owned....and I've owned 62 motorcycles! The bars are just the right height to take some pressure off the old butt, but not so low or far away as to strain the wrists or neck (the bars, on this year bike, mount above the triple clamp, unlike older Thruxtons. This also allows for the bars to be easily replaced, if you prefer a different bend). This is with me riding, at 6ft 1in. I do not use bike for commuting. I do backroad touring rides, little day trips, of 100 to 500 miles. This bike is comfy! I'm an old guy who rides conservatively. This bike has never popped a wheelie, done a burnout, or visited redline. In fact, I don't think it's ever exceeded 6000 RPM. I shift at 3500 to 5000, typically Always garaged, and never wrecked. This bike is used, now new, but is very nice. Sorry I didn't do a fine detail job for the pictures, but the bike has never really been dirty. 7055 miles. Mileage will increase if I am asked to bring the bike somewhere to show, as a result of this ad. Modifications were all performed by myself, and I'm a former professional (aircraft) mechanic and working engineer: -New Battery-British Customs (BC) Predator exhaust -BC airbox eliminator (uses K&N pod filters) -BC Rear fender eliminator -BC O2 sensor eliminator -BC fork brace -(former owner mounted smaller than stock turn signals...originals included) -I lined the wheels with 3M marine epoxy, so I could run the tires tubeless. This is the way I rode the bike, through my ownership, but I have installed tubes, for the purpose of selling the bike. This method of tubeless conversion, while popular, is controversial, so I wanted the wheels to be set up as standard, before selling. All stock parts are included with this bike! Exhaust, turn signals, rear fender, airbox, chain guard. I'm not sure who would ever remount these parts, since the modifications are so satisfying, but you will get the parts with the bike. If you are in the central KY area, I encourage you to come take a look before bidding. You can also give me a call at 859-749-4130 to discuss, or arrange a viewing. Send a text, first, if you want to assure I pick up. There will be no test rides. Sorry...liability, ya know. You are welcome to follow me, and hear the glorious exhaust. The bike is for local pick-up only. A door-to-door MC shipping Co. is also OK, if you make all arrangements, and all paperwork, inc money, is exchanged in advance. Payment is cash only on pick-up, within 7 days of auction close. If you are going to arrange shipping, your check must clear my bank before any paperwork, or the bike, is exchanged. If you are a KY resident, we go to the courthouse together for transfer (liability, you know). If you are out of state, I’ll send you on your way with a signed title, a bill of sale, and no plate (this last part is Ky law). Please do not bid, unless you intend to buy. Thanks !!!!!
