Absolutely Beautiful 25th Anniversary 1978 Corvette A Gorgeous & True American Classic Have you ever had the opportunity to turn back the clock and go back to a particularly favorite time in your life, a time of Adventure and Excitement, and maybe even a little Romance? Now is your chance... I have been so blessed to have been able to do so, and have treasured every moment of it... I just know you will enjoy and love this beautiful Corvette as much as I have; or perhaps for your Son or Daughter. It is truly an amazing Car, that will make many new memories. It is time now for me to focus on new adventures in my life -- A cabin in the Mountains; another Life-Long Dream. When I was 16, My Dad bought a brand new 1978 Corvette; gorgeous White with a Saffron interior. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. My dad was a pretty awesome and cool Dad, and he knew how important it was for a teenage High-School Boy to have confidence and to be just a little bit Cool. Now don't get me wrong, my Dad was a Naval Officer and he had rules and raised me properly, But he was also a very cool and understanding Dad. When he threw me the keys and told me to drive myself to school - I thought I was dreaming! I left super early that morning because I wanted to be sure to get a parking spot right up front and hang out with my Buddies for a few minutes before the bell rang. I think all the kids in the whole school spotted me next to the Corvette and gave a wave, or a whistle, or a WOW! It was the best day Ever to that point in my life. I had so much fun in that amazing Car During my high school years - And I made so many Unforgettable memories. I actually Met (and eventually Married) my High School Sweetheart while driving that Car! When I went off to college ~ my dad sold the Corvette to buy his dream Boat; He was a Navy Man After All.... Well, many years later I wanted very much to find a car just like that one. I had a little money by that time in my life and could indulge this dream of finding that Corvette. It took me about Six Months but I found it... It was a survivor with 39K original Miles, No - not the same car I had as kid but it was Identical! It had been sitting for a very long time and rarely driven but it was in fantastic shape. Over the next 10 years - I replaced or restored EVERYTHING that the Corvette needed to make it like it should be... I hired my local mechanic (he's an old school mechanic who is absolutely fantastic) to do all of the mechanical restoration. We put in only the best quality parts, and he replaced everything that the Corvette needed - including the AC system, Vacuum System, Front and Rear suspension rebuild kits, Oil Seals and Gaskets, transmission gaskets, Complete steering system, High-Output aluminum radiator (this was one of the few deviations from Factory original as it was simply far superior), Complete and factory correct Rochester Carburetor, Ignition System, Half Shafts, Brake Calipers, Power Window motors, Remove factory Smog Components, Tires, Battery, The engine was completely gone through and everything that needed to be replaced or tuned was done. Restoration that I could do myself, I did - and if you knew how meticulous I am you would understand how much care and love I put into every little detail; Carpet (with a dyno-mat type of material and heat shielding underneath0, Door Panels, Horn, Interior Console Bezels and lenses, Seat Leather (Replaced by a professional Upholsterer), and dozens and dozens of small components that were not just perfect - all replaced - light bulbs, screws, panels, and more... I literally have a file folder full of thousands of dollars in receipts (Yours to keep, with the Car)... Coupled with the 13K I originally paid for the Car - I have over $25K invested in this Beautiful Corvette. I do not expect to get that in Selling the Car and I never planned to --- I just wanted it perfect for me and my Girl to enjoy - and we're still Married today!! The Corvette was also recently sanded and repainted (Factory correct White- which is its original color) including complete sanding, and fiber glass spider webbing, stress cracks properly repaired. No - it's not a $10,000 Dollar Paint job but it's Lovely and well Done - and very Shiny!! I traded services (I'm an Engineer) with a Local Paint Body Shop to do the work for me... I provided $5K in services to the owner in return for the Paint job with the Fiber Glass work that was done. And given the three months he had the Corvette, and seeing the work in various stages of completion - I know I received my Money's worth. My Corvette has NEVER been in an accident nor has it seen damage at any time --- and I am the 2nd owner. I have taken her on small weekend road trips and have had absolutely zero issues... I would confidently drive her to California and back and not worry a bit (I live in Texas). The corvette needs nothing - she is a dream and in beautiful condition inside and out - as well as mechanically perfect. You will simply not find another Corvette this old in this perfect condition for this price. She looks brand new inside and out. This Saffron interior is so warm and inviting and very comfortable. The light of the Sun really warms it's glow. While in Shade - it reminds me of my Baseball glove I had as a kid. It's truly the best color I think Corvettes were ever graced with... The photos show what I'm trying to describe. This beautiful Corvette truly shines and is beautiful inside and out - so very clean and well loved and maintained... Oh and by the way - She's a Show Winner!! After most of the restorative work had been done - I entered her into a local Corvette show and I won!! Very Cool Day!! It has only ever had Mobil One Oil and I just changed it again 3-Weeks Ago. It stays In my Garage and Covered at all times Unless I take it for a spin around the block - which I do every week or so to keep her limber. The Car Cover is also yours as well as the Brand New T-TOP protective Covers. The Corvette also Comes with a Box full of spare parts Light Bulbs, Bezels, Factory Correct Interior Screws, Lenses, Windshield Washer pump (I just recently got this because the original stopped working... never had a chance to install it though). And Many More Parts, 1978 Full Corvette Assembly Manual in a 3-ring Binder, and Original Owners Manual. The Clock (which I always intended to send off to rebuild but never got around to it), and the windshield washer pump are the only two things that do not work. You can send the clock off, and for less than $150 have it rebuilt and sent back to you. In fact - If you purchase the Corvette - I'll reimburse you the $150 to get it done. One thing I learned after owning and restoring this car for the past 10 Years - You will Never have any trouble finding any Sort of Corvette part or service... It is a very big industry for the Most Iconic Car ever made in America. The Radio is also after market - nothing fancy but you can play your iPod (which I must have because I love Old 70's Music - go figure). I do not have the original radio - I got rid of it years ago (It did not work). You can find cheaper Corvettes on Ebay - or anywhere really.... but you must know that anything you get that has not been restored will need a lot of work and a lot of $... even if it has low mileage... Rubber and Plastic do NOT hold up well over time... they break down... this means Hoses, Bushings, Weather Stripping, Tires, gaskets, Seals, etc... These have all been replaced on My Corvette. I will miss this beautiful Corvette immensely -- I have put so much love into her and Since I've purchased her more than 10 Years ago - I have driven her about 10,000 Miles. She is a Beautiful Machine and I know you will love it too... It is such a Head-Turner!! I am really easy to work with... I'll work with you on shipping - or local pickup - or financing with your bank if you wish to do that... Anything I can do to help - just let me know. I just want it to go to a good Home. You can reach me anytime with any questions or request for additional photos or Video - at 713-385-2104. I live near Katy Texas - In case you'd like to arrange a personal visit to look at the Corvette. My bank (USAA) appraised My Corvette at $26,000 - so getting a Loan for the car will not be an issue - if you desire. This beautiful machine will only increase in value as you probably know - and it is priced well below it's value. And for the Men and Women of our Armed Forces - Thank You for your Service! (I am a Vet as well) - And May God Bless America, Always!
