Vehicle Detail

1994 BMW K75 condition: excellent engine displacement (CC): 750 fuel: gas odometer: 67145 paint color: black title status: clean transmission: manual - Well maintained, includes binder with maintenance records going back to when the bike was new - Michelin Pilot Active tires are nearly new, were mounted at 66,277 (These tires are expensive but superb.) - Serviced at 66,222 by BMW Master Mechanic Bud Provin, replaced coolant, brake fluid, transmission oil, final drive oil and engine oil/filter - At 57,203 major servicing done by Berkshire Motor Works: drive shaft and input shaft replaced, rear gear wheel replaced, clutch replaced, transmission rebuilt (the latter two were apparently preventative maintance because the bike was apart anyway) - Odyssey PC-680 battery installed in 2016. It works like new. This is the best type of BMW battery I have ever used. I run it in other bikes as well. - Second owner, first owner was meticulous and kept excellent maintenance records. That's why I bought it. - Includes color matched Parabellum Scout fairing and tinted shield (current new cost for that fairing, painted, is $809.00 plus shipping) - Includes saddlebags, bag liners, trunk and trunk liner - Includes original manual as well as a Haynes repair manual - Low seat model (which also means a lower center of gravity when riding)Fork seals are weeping a bit and should be replaced at some point though it isn't urgent. And even though the splines were replaced only 10,000 miles ago I recommend that the new owner have them lubed as extra preventative maintenance. The bike starts, runs and shifts correctly and is in exceptional condition overall. It is currently registered in Vermont and title is on hand. I have been riding BMWs for almost thirty years and have owned three K bikes including a 1992 K75S (later converted to a K75RS). The K75 (750 cc) came out during a very good era for BMW. They had started making excellent fuel injected multi-cylinder engines (derived from their 318i car engine) but had not yet added the many complex electrical systems that we see on the current bikes. As such, the BMW K100 and K75 are two of the most solid and reliable bikes that BMW ever made. I've met several riders who have more than 300,000 miles on their K75s. The K100 is more powerful but the K75 is much smoother, somewhat lighter and a bit better balanced. The bike has a huge following and many BMW riders were very unhappy when BMW stopped making it in 1995. Many modern BMW motorcycles cannot match the reliability of these K bikes from the 1990s. There were three core versions of the K75: a standard (sold without fairing), an S (with sport fairing and low bars) and an RT (with upright bars and a full fairing). Having spent a good amount of time on all three, I think the standard (with a Scout fairing) works the best. The K75S is beautiful but the fairing doesn't provide much protection and the low bar position can be uncomfortable for long distance riding. The RT has a great riding position (for touring) and great cold weather protection but it is the most top heavy of the three and its fairing traps a lot of heat in the summer. The standard model, with a Parabellum Scout, gives quite a bit of wind protection but doesn't make the bike hot to ride in the summer (because the fairing doesn't go below the tank). I bought this 1994 K75 in 2003 (from the original owner) as a gift for my father. He is not a mechanic and I wanted to get him the most reliable, hassle-free BMW possible. He has ridden it for fifteen years. Every fall the bike goes into storage with StaBil in the tank and weekly charge touchups with a Battery Tender. Every spring it rolls out and starts immediately. Every time for all those years. My dad is now 78 and is having some trouble with his hip. Motorcycling is not an option with that problem so he's looking for a good Miata NA to enjoy. If you have one you want to consider in trade, let us know. This is a really good bike and one that should be able take a rider cross country without a problem. In fact I rode my own K75 cross country in 1995 and it never missed a beat. If you are an experienced BMW rider you probably know the K75 pretty well. If you are new to BMWs, this is an excellent one to start with and you too might decide to keep it for a long time. This is a $4000 bike that, long term, should be more reliable and last longer that many bikes that currently sell for six times that amount. Will consider reasonable offers.
