Vehicle Detail
Relisted due to a non-paying bidder. PLEASE, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO BUY THE CAR, DON'T BID. Range Rover HSE Supercharged (very rare combination) This auction is for a two owner Range Rover HSE Supercharged… Not to be mistaken with the HSE sport or the base HSE. Before the autobiography, this was the absolute top-of-the-line Range Rover money could buy. My wife and I bought this vehicle for her from the original owner who is an attorney in the Houston Texas area. The title and Carfax indicated that he had purchased it new with no lien. This is significant because a person who spends that much money on a vehicle tends to take care of it. We were further comforted by the fact that a Range Rover dealer in Houston did a prepurchase inspection and offered to buy the car from us before we purchased the vehicle. When you review the photos, you will see that this has a custom interior which is an option for Range Rover at the dealer when purchased new. This car has a deep navy leather interior with cream piping and dark blue carpet. The exterior of the car is also a navy blue (Range Rover has their own name for it) which is why our license plate says BLURVR (get it?). One other thing to mention, this has a new set of tires costing approximately $1700 within the last year. As second owners we followed the standard maintenance schedule and had a total tuneup done at around 60,000 miles which included all plugs and wires. Since then we have replaced control arms and some nitpicky switches and relays that cause engine lights to go off. It has a new radiator fan and maintenance has been done every year since we’ve owned it. My wife works at a hospital approximately 20 minutes by freeway which makes this vehicle extremely impractical due to the supercharged V-8 that gets about 11 miles to the gallon. I have bought my last six vehicles on eBay, and I always suggest that if you have a concern, you have an inspection done by a qualified mechanic (at your expense prior to the end of auction). Do not bid on this car and then think you’re going to get inspected to decide whether or not you to follow through with the purchase should you be the winner. I am more than happy to take this car in, again at your expense, to have it inspected. Please be prepared to spend about $250 at the dealer. We do have other options locally for highly qualified mechanics; contact me for the name and number of our mechanic who performed the majority of the work on this vehicle. One more piece of unsolicited advice… I see a lot of great deals on eBay for cars that have practically no miles on them that are the same year but different trim packages. If you’re going to purchase one of those vehicles, you absolutely must get it inspected. Here’s the reality, cars are built to be driven, all cars, including Ferrari and Lamborghini, will fall apart when left to sit for 8 to 10 years. The main thing you have to be concerned about when buying an older low mileage Range Rover is the suspension. This vehicle weighs over three times and sits on air bladders that cost $12,000 to repair should the suspension system fail. No seller will tell you that, you can buy a $4000-ish aftermarket set that eliminates all of Range Rover’s adaptive driving conditions settings and just have a regular suspension or spend $12,000 and replace the OEM equipment. The reason these go out is from lack of use. Again, this vehicle was purchased from the original owner who used it as a daily driver and then my wife, the second owner, also uses it as a daily driver and we do not have these issues with the car. Again, if you have any questions, please use the contact link on eBay, and I will respond right away. This is a great car with another hundred thousand miles worth of life left in it assuming you take care of it. It may also be noteworthy to mention that we have only used full synthetic oil changes since new and this car has never seen gasoline that was not 93 octane. Finally, this SUV has been given a full detail with clay bar every year since we purchased it except for this year. If you win the auction and would like the detail service, you will pay the Mercedes dealer directly (that’s who we use), and I will take it in for an approximate additional cost of $300. It is well worth the money, you will get your vehicle, and it will look new. Placing a Bid: Your bid constitutes a legally binding contract to purchase this vehicle.
