Vehicle Detail
1956 Dodge Coronet 2 door hardtop! Survivor! 32,549 miles! Solid unmolested Colorado car! Preservation car! Car was bought new in and spent it's whole life up to last year in Burlington, Colorado. I can't emphasize enough how original this car is. Car is a survivor, no signs of being molested in any way. It is not perfect, it has it's share of chips and dings etc. but it is very worthy of a gentle restoration/preservation. Or, if you want to fully restore it, it is the perfect car to start with.It has 32,549 original miles. I was able to get that documented in a letter from the widow of the original owner. It was bought new in Burlington, Colorado, driven around locally by the widow and her husband and then by the daughter for school and then it was parked. Car was bought from an estate in early 2016 from the original owner's widow. Person I bought it from never titled it so I am officially the second owner of the car. BODY: I believe the Crown Yellow paint is original where as the white was redone at some point. Yellow is worn through in places. I cannot detect to sign of bodywork or bondo on this car. Only body work that I suspected and confirmed with original owner was the drivers side fender was hit and replaced early in it's life. Normal surface rust underneath but no rot through that I could detect. Floors are solid from what I can see. There is scale around the sill plates. Rockers are solid. Super straight! Some chips and dings. Missing trim on right quarter. and Lancer emblem on front fender. Left tail light housing is dented. Crack in drivers window. It looks like they were going to use the car to tow something at some point as there is a plug in but I see no evidence of any hitch ever being on the car. Trunk is solid. ENGINE: Runs and shifts but not yet roadworthy. Needs carburetor work, brakes, exhaust, water pump (new one included). She needs the usual for a car that has been sitting. The steering wheel is off center when steering it. I am including some new tune up parts. Gas tank looks like it was removed and cleaned. It does have an oil bath air cleaner, I removed it for the photos. INTERIOR: is worn out but complete. The front carpet is shredded, however the rear carpet might be saveable. Seats are dried out. All gauges and lights work with the exception of the dome light (plunger is bent). Needs headliner. Horn center has holes drilled in it but have a replacement as well as a horn ring. Car comes with original build sheet, spare key blanks , shop manual and brochures. Also a full set of Royal Lancer hubcaps! Winking tiger is not included :) I have described this car honestly and to the best of my ability. I have 100% positive feedback and want to keep it that way! Please feel free to ask questions before bidding. Car is sold As-Is. Car is stored an hour away from me, so if you need any other pictures let me know. It may take a day or so depending on my schedule. If you have zero or negative feedback, please contact me before bidding. Buyer is responsible for pickup within 2 weeks of purchase. Car is being listed for sale locally. Seller reserves the right to end listing early.Car must be picked up within two weeks of sale. Thanks!
