Vehicle Detail

Hello, you are looking at a very clean 1966 International Harvester Scout 800 4x4. This is a 3-speed manual transmission example with a reliable 152 Comanche engine. Manual high and low range four wheel drive with front locking hubs. The vehicle is in an amazing shape for being 52 years old! It starts every time and runs reliably. The Scout turns heads and gets smiles / thumbs-up every time I drive it. It comes with 2 tops and is a convertible truck, so you essentially get 3 vehicles in one! Prior owner had the vehicle stripped and painted in this beautiful green and beige combination (NASON paint, Adirondack Green and Palamino Beige). He replaced the front fenders and had minor body repairs completed - all new or cut and weld; no filler was used. Finally, he had the frame inspected and undercoated - it did not require repair. Prior owner also fitted the vehicle with brand new Mudclaw Extreme tires and passed Virginia State Safety Inspection (inspection covered tires, ball joints, shocks, brakes, handbrake, turn signals, brake lights, running lights, head lights & headlight aiming). Recent modifications include a brand new bench seat upholstery and foam. Premium black matte vinyl was used with longevity in mind and original thread patterns were followed for a timeless, classy look. Few other recent upgrades: - New fuel lines with an in-line fuel filter (removed fuel selector valve; both gas tanks connected now) - New fuel gage - Refurbished sun visors (same vinyl as bench seat, followed original patterns) - New armrests, freshly wrapped in same premium vinyl as seat - New spark plugs - Fresh battery charge Scout comes with: - 2 tops (full length 'travel top' & a pickup style half top) - original chrome hub caps (very rare) - new factory shop and parts manual - half top to body seal - new glove box owners manual - original Scout script and All Wheel Drive fender badges - aftermarket inside rear view mirror with adhesive kit - black tailgate lettering vinyl decal kit - window seal kit - many spare parts (full gasket kit, carburetor rebuilt kit, etc) Always stored indoors. Overall this vehicle is great. Has a few leaks, scratches and dings but that is to be expected for the age - remember, this thing is over half century old! I was told many times that it's very rare to see an almost stock, unmolested Scout anymore.. If you're into Scouts you know this is very true. Sad to see it go.. Selling due to my family growing - baby #2 due in June; don't have the time to enjoy anymore. Vehicle is located in Birmingham, MI. Happy to arrange a test drive / inspection. Call or text with any questions (248.four-three-zero.7887). Low reserve. Also listed for sale locally. $1,000 deposit due within 72 hours of auction close. Balance due within 5 days of auction close by bank wire or cashiers check. On May-18-18 at 06:50:33 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE: Several people notified me of a few fraudulent Craigslist listings of my car (Chattanooga, Dallas and somewhere in California). Those are a SCAM! Please flag them for me. Anything outside of Michigan is a scam. If something seems too good to be true, it probably isn't true.
