Vehicle Detail
Go where no Harley has gone before! This is a 2005 BMW R1200GS with just over 20,000 miles on it. There are many farkles attached, such as extra large fog lamps (one just went out; needs a new bulb), headlight protector, larger than standard windshield, engine guards, crash bars, throttle lock, custom padded and upholstered seats, etc. This bike has seen some adventure, and has dings and such associated with such adventures. I personally never dropped it, but the guy who owned it before me did. I have identified the results of those mishaps as best I could in the photos: A crack on the left fairing/engine cover. This crack was repaired to a degree with bondo at the dealership, but it certainly wasnt a replacement of OEM parts (a new cover is a few hundred dollars for those wondering). The bottoms of the engine guards display dents and scratches, but the damage does not extend into the boxer engine. I have never personally removed the guards, but I have had it regularly serviced at the local Asheville BMW Eurosport dealership and have never heard anything about it (and those guys love to find expensive things to do!). In addition to the bike itself, I am throwing in two expandable R1200GS boxes, a 3 season extra large Olympia jacket with liner and a Scala Rider G9x. These accessories were not inexpensive (boxes were 700, G9x was about $300 and the jacket was about $500), but once you take the bike, frankly I will have no use for them. I'm selling this at a fire sale price (to start; you're welcome to bid it up as high as you like) for medical reasons, and at the request of my beloved wife who doesn't like the idea of me having medical problems while riding. With that said, I feel compelled to spell out the terms of this fire sale as clearly as possible, so here they go. The bike is a 13 year old adventure bike that has been on some adventures and shows wear and tear. It runs well and has been regularly serviced, and doesn't have many miles for the age. The damages from the adventures have been clearly spelled out, and photos have clearly displayed the described "boo boo's". At the end of the no reserve auction, a $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours via PayPal. You will need to pick up the machine, which is located in Leicester, NC 28748, within 7 days of the end of the auction, or you will forfeit your $500. The balance of the sale will be required to either paid in cash at the time of pickup. There will be no "test rides" (it's a completed auction, after all) on the bike unless you leave the cash in my hot little hands and sign a waiver that essentially says that if you damage the bike during your "test ride", doing so effectively completes the sale, and when you return to where you started, I will happily sign the title over to you! Feel free to ask questions. The bike is priced below trade in value to start, with no reserve. The dings, wear and tear, etc, have been as clearly articulated as I know how, but I am more than happy to provide whatever other information one may require to facilitate a smooth transaction.
