Purchased new 11/11/78 at Michael's Toyota in Bellevue, WA, this little gem was meticulously preserved by a Don G. until his passing a few years ago. Don was a Navy man stationed in Oak Harbor, WA, at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, and many of the Corolla's maintenance receipts are from the NEX Autoport/Navy Exchange Service Station on the base. I'm told that the 'blue' windshield ID identifies Don as an officer....The car came to me from a guy who got it from Don's estate, fixed a few things on it, and then realized he had absolutely no use for it. I rescued it from him simply because I couldn't pass it up! This is a TRUE SURVIVOR, collector's item, cream puff, museum piece. It could sit proudly today in any Toyota dealer's showroom. It is that nice.It comes with records since new, including receipts for recent radiator, muffler, engine/head work ,and BRAND new tires. The car is complete, original, and unmolested bumper to bumper. Cream-colored paint is all original and excellent, a few dingettes and some touch-up below the rear hatch keep it from being absolutely 'perfect'. ZERO rust or damage that I can detect anywhere else. Yes, it is a 5-SPEED.... The dashboard is beautiful. The headliner doesn't have a mark on it. Seats/carpet are original and excellent but for driver's seat, as pictured. Small windshield flaw dead center. Original owner's manual, warranty booklet, and Haynes repair manual are included.I drove the Toyota at highway speeds from Oak Harbor, WA, to my home in Bend, OR, with nary a hiccup. That's a distance of 400+ miles, bringing the total miles on the car to 98,463. Once again, the mileage is fully documented. To the best of my knowledge, everything on the car works, right down to the AM radio and every single wire in the rear-window defroster!Washington title is clean, clear, unbranded, properly released.
