96 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1988 BMW R100 GS. Recently refreshed and rebuilt. New motor top and bottom. Rebuilt and refreshed 40mm Bing carbs. Brand new transmission and clutch. New alternator. New Alpha V.3 ignition system, Dyna coils from Motorrad Elektrik. Refreshed speedo by Palo Alto Instruments. All work done by Werkstatt Racing, SF Cycle Werks, Ted Porter’s Beemer Shop, all in and near San Francisco. The bike has about 50k on it. New motor and tranny have about 800 miles on them. Valves adjusted and oil changed recently at the 500 mile new motor check. Ohlin’s Type 4 rear shock. KTM front inverted Forks. Harrison 6 piston billet front brakes with new brake pads. Hard bags, 2 seats, including a Renazco Racing custom made seat and a newly recovered orange R80GS seat. 3 gas tanks, including a hard to find Acerbis 13 gallon tank with petcocks. The bike starts and runs perfectly. It has great patina. The bike is ready to go around the world. Just the motor, transmission, ignition, rebuilding, totals about $5K. The newly painted OEM white Paris Dakar tank is about $3k. Hard bike to let go, but have too many bikes and it’s time someone else enjoy this machine. It’s my 12th BMW GS in 30 years.
