1970 GMC SHORTBED STEPSIDE BIG BLOCK CUSTOM 1/2 TON PICKUP STARTING @ $1970.00 WITH NO RESERVE. Rare truck. Original shortbed stepside 1/2 ton. Original, RARE, 1 year only, Dark Green (512 paint code). Original factory big block option. Original automatic option. Original tach option. Original AC option. Original power steering option. Original power brake option. Original CST (Custom Sport Truck) option. Original rear leaf spring option. Original posi rear end. ....and after all that, radio delete. Truck was a special order (original delete plate included). Original owners manual and protecto plate. Original California truck, built at the Fremont plant. Original CA Black and Yellow plates. Original mileage on odometer shows 37,884 however true miles are unknown. Truck has been totally restored/updated over the past 15 or so, approximate years. Being offered here for the fist time since completion with less than 100 approximate miles in turn-key, pro-touring condition. MOTOR: Original 402/310hp big block replaced with a 1968 396/325hp big block. Complete rebuild. Also new are Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock carburetor, HEI, stainless headers, battery, polished alternator with built in voltage regulator, custom 3" exhaust, aluminum pulley arms, wires, plugs, period 396/325 chrome valve covers & air cleaner, water pump, electric fuel pump, all new hoses & belts, relocated power steering reservoir, 4 core radiator, fan, fan shroud, etc. TRANSMISSION: New 700R4 automatic with overdrive. BODY & PAINT: Bare metal, glass out, disassembled, PPG 2 stage repaint in it's 1 year only, original color of #512 Dark Green (cross referenced-PPG Dark Blue/Green #2206 paint code). Exceptional quality with no drive time or even sunlight until now. Laser straight. Flawless gaps, fit and finish. Incredible deep shine. Absolutely show level. Gorgeous color on this truck and very rare/unique. EXTERIOR: Every bit of the exterior is new including : All new glass all the way around. All new rubber, seals, felts and weather stripping. Even the stepside fenders are vinyl beaded. All new chrome including: front and rear bumpers, grill, headlight surrounds, side mirrors, door handles, locks, windshield wipers, rear cargo lamp, antenna, beauty rings, derby caps & window seal deco trim. relocated new suburban gas tank to rear frame with custom routed Billet fill cap in passenger stepside. New wood bed with stainless strips. All new stainless bed hardware. All new turn signals, brake lights, back up lights and running lights. Custom hide-a-hitch behind rear license plate. AIR CONDITIONING: Complete, all new Vintage Air update with polished compressor. Exceptional heat and cooling system. ELECTRICAL: Truck is 100% completely re-wired with American Autowire kit. All lights are upgraded to LED and/or H4. Custom classic look digital stereo head unit with Soundstream amplifier and custom integrated 12" Soundstream subwoofer. New gauge cluster bezel. Custom power windows. INTERIOR: Custom built low back bucket seat unit finished in leather and Alcantara. Seats 3 when center console is up, and each seat including the middle seat has it's own forward and back sliders. Custom door panels, kick panels with speakers, behind the seat rear custom panel with integrated 12" Soundstream subwoofer & amplifier. Custom covered cab including roof, window pillars, headliner & dash. Full custom carpet. Push/pull activated classic window crank power windows. Custom Budnik steering wheel covered in matching leather. Everything under the dash is also new, wiring, ac ducts, etc. Paint on the interior is original and the original 'SPID' options list is still in place on the inside of the glove box. SUSPENSION: 1 piece aluminum drive line. Updated front disc brakes with rebuilt rear brakes and differential. Dropped spindles, springs and shocks all around. 2" rear leaf spring hangers with overload leaf springs removed. No frame cutting or C notching. New 235/75R15 white wall tires on 8" steal rallies. Front sway bar with new bushings. Excellent ride, firm confident feel but not bouncy and no bottoming out. SUMMERY: This comprehensive build would easily take $50,000+ to duplicate without including the cost of the original truck. Truly a trun-key ready to enjoy, future car show winner. Runs, shifts, stops and starts like a new GM pickup. Tracks straight and true down the freeway. Effortlessly cruises at speeds of 70-80mph with it's overdrive transmission yet very fast/quick when you want it be. Sounds amazing, yet quiet and comfortable within the fully insulated cab. No wind noise, squeaks or rattles. Excellent, rare pickup. New again after all these years with virtually no miles yet. Nice as they come without being literally too nice to use.
