My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 60+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2002 Saab 9-3 SE convertible with the desirable 5 speed manual transmission. I would rate the exterior of this Saab to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking convertible. It is finished in Silver Metallic over black leather interior with a matching black soft top. The silver finish has a deep shine and looks smooth. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific 9-3, the worst I can say is that there are multiple dents on the hood. You should be able to see this in the photos. Aside from that, she doesn't look too bad. All of the trim and moldings are present and show well. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. The convertible top looks to be in good condition and there is no evidence of any leaking. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a set of snow tires, which I would get rid of. I would rate the interior of this Saab to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets show well throughout the interior. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The leather seats show well for their age and do not show any excessive wear. The power windows, locks, seats and mirrors all work properly. The power convertible top raises and lowers with the touch of a button. The stereo system is original and sounds good. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. When I road tested this Saab, it was a little too chilly to tell whether or not the air conditioner was working effectively, but the heater works well. The trunk is spacious and clean. Mechanically, this Saab appears to be in good running and driving condition. The turbocharged 2.0L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners could use a little improvement. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. I think my beef is with the snow tires. If you recall from earlier in the description, I mentioned that I would get rid of the snow tires. Here is why...When I road tested this car, I got a noticeable vibration at speeds over 50mph. What it feels like to me is flat spotted tires. My Corvette is the same way every spring when I take it out for the first time. The tires are so out of round from sitting that it shakes and vibrates something awful until they get heated up and work out the flat spots. This Saab feels exactly like that. Snow tires tend to have a very soft compound, so my guess is that the tires are just out of round. There is a good chance that it'll work itself out after driving it a while, but it feels pretty sketchy right now. As a disclaimer, that is just my best guess. I am not a mechanic and there is a chance that I am wrong. All I can do is pass on my observations from my road test and the benefit of any experience I have on a given subject. Aside from that, she feels decent. The engine keeps perfect temperature. There have been no idiot lights on during my road test. The turbo spools up quickly and brings on good power. Because of how it drove for me, I didn't really push it much past 60mph. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. The only thing I can see that this car needs mechanically is to have the exhaust fixed. You can hear that either the muffler has a hole in it or one of the donut gaskets went bad. It's not super loud, but you can hear it. Vehicles left longer than 14 days without prior written permission may be assessed a storage fee of $10/ day. Storage fees will be deducted first from any monies paid to Liberty Auto Exchange. Non-Paying Bidders: We take what we do very seriously and ask that potential bidders take placing their bid just as seriously. Non-Paying Bidders will be assessed a re-listing fee of $249. This fee is considered due and payable, without demand, to Liberty Auto Exchange on the 8th day from the end of the auction. Non-Paying Bidders will be reported to eBay, blocked from bidding on future auctions and may be referred to our Collection Agency for credit reporting and fee recovery. Fees and Taxes The only fee we charge is the $149 Administrative Fee that is also disclosed in the first sentence of the written description. Because we sell with NO RESERVE, we have no way to control how much (if any) money we make per vehicle. This fee helps us isolate a few of our fixed, per transaction expenses in a way that is fair to everyone. The winning bidder is responsible for paying all required fees to their respective state of origin. We are a PennDOT issuing agent and are happy to provide low cost title / tag services to Pennsylvania Residents. *For Out-Of-State Residents, we offer a PennDOT 30 day In-Transit Tag to legally drive your vehicle to your home state.
