Vehicle Detail
Happy Easter everyone!! Today I bring you this classic 1972 Honda CB750 K2 in beautiful Candy Gold Custom. I completely restored this bike to showroom condition with a lot of time and passion. I bought this CB750 many years ago from the original owner and had it in my collection until I restored it two years ago. I have all the original purchase docs when he bought the motorcycle in 1973. She starts easy, idles perfectly and runs beautifully, a true delight. Everything works properly and is adjusted right, the valves just tapping away quietly when you ride it down the highway. You can take this bike anywhere. My restorations go into a lot of detail apart from the cosmetic rejuvenation like chroming, polishing and painting. Here is a quick overview of some things I do in random order: The brakes are overhauled with new master kits, rotors re-surfaced and brake lines inspected and if in good condition cleaned and re used or replaced. The banjo bolts are zinc coated or new. A wheel overhaul includes new bearings, spokes, new tires and trueing and balancing. I really touch everything and try to make it as good as new for example with the speedo drive. It is taken apart cleaned and re-packed with fresh grease and a new seal put in. The front forks are rebuilt and have fresh fluid. I replace the fork tubes if they are too rough. The carburetors are disassembled, vapor honed and assembled with new jets and seals. The swing arm gets an overhaul with new bushings and dust seals fresh grease and in most cases a new collar. My motorcycles come with restored gauges and all new cables. I don’t always do an engine overhaul but in this case I went ahead and did the top end with new rings and proper head work. All the aluminum is polished by a master craftsman. The engine covers to a nice satin and then clear coated for a durable finish. I’m especially proud of the front fork lowers. They turned out beautifully. The frame and swing arm are powder coated and all other black parts I professionally paint in gloss black enamel. All hardware gets a new zinc coat. This seat pattern was only available for this year and you don’t see these in this condition very often. I restored the pan and replaced the seat foam. This motorcycle came with a 4 into 1 exhaust system in very nice shape but it’s just not the same as the original look and sound we all come to love. I bought this aftermarket set from Europe to try it out and I have to give these folks the highest credits. It is very well made, double walled and made out of heavy solid steel with a beautiful deep chrome finish superior to the original in my opinion. Looks and sounds fantastic. The original color of this motorcycle was Flake Sunrise Orange but since the tank had some dents and the decals were rubbed off some I decided to change color to this limited Candy Gold Custom. It is new from Japan. This is a turnkey vintage classic motorcycle ready to ride and enjoy or be put in your museum. This is a no reserve auction and the highest bidder wins. Bid with confidence, you won’t be disappointed. Buyer is responsible for pick-up and shipping. I will assist to my abilities and have a good reliable shipper if you need one. Clear Texas title in my name. As always the motorcycle sells "as is"
