Vehicle Detail
This Jeep is being relisted because the first manufacturer of the steering wouldn't help correct their problems with the steering, so a special thanks to Trailforged.com for coming through in a pinch. This auction is for honestly one of the rarest and nicest modified 2001 Jeep Cherokees to ever see the pages of eBay. Yes I know there a lot of them to choose from. First reason to choose mine, I am not a dealer, I am a private shop building one Jeep at a time, so more attention to detail in the finished product. I joined forces with one of the ASE certified builders from the self proclaimed largest Cherokee builder in the country to build this Jeep. This Jeep was inspected front to rear and if a part needed replacement, it was not only replaced but upgraded. The second reason to buy mine, I start with completely rust free trucks, I don't bother buying trucks from the rust prone states and doing body work, My trucks are 100 percent free of rust. Third thing, I do not buy municipal vehicles, the gov't employees do not take care of them like they would their own. I also have build sheet and Carfax report I can email a copy to serious buyers. This is truly a rare find, a 2001 Cherokee in the 2door model with a 5 speed. Some have called this Jeep a unicorn. Motor in the Jeep is a new ATK motor that was built using a TUPY head and not the 1st design problematic 0331 head. Also is backed by the highly desirable NV3550 5 speed manual transmission. With 2001 being the final year of the Cherokees this one is a must have. Now a little about the pristine interior. The carpet in the passenger area of the Jeep is new OEM carpet, the rear cargo was cleaned and was found to be in perfect shape and not needing replacement. The factory 2 door seats were reupholstered with factory upholstery I removed from a 13k mile Cherokee years ago. The headliner is brand new so no droopy headliner in this one. The factory CD player remains in the dash but is now surrounded by a Limited woodgrain bezel. OK now I know you are wondering how a 17 year old Jeep is so shiny. It’s because the truck had the windshield and rear hatch glass removed then the Cherokee was repainted with Axalta PR4 flame red paint. The black you see on the hood is not vinyl, it I painted with a satin black with a satin clear. Yes this is a basecoat clearcoat paint job. We added a huge roof rack basket for all the cargo that will not fit in the spacious rear cargo area. The basket was accessorized with everything you need for your off road expedition, Bulldog off road jack, shovel, axe, as well as five 6 inch KC lights. Then for that expedition we added a Smittybilt XRC series winch bumper with the bulbar option. And to fill that empty center we added a XRC series 9.5 winch and custom twisted D-rings. We also added 2 additional KC lights to the bumper. We also took care of the Cherokee problem headlights and replaced them with Rigid 55003 heated LED lights, man these things light up the road. We also added the Smittybily CO2 tank to the package. This will air up the 33s from 10 pounds to full pressure in 50 seconds, you can also run air tools off the CO2 tank. Mush faster than the old news on board air systems. Now onto the steering and suspension part of the Cherokee, there were no expenses spared here either. This truck started off life as a factory upcountry Jeep, so it has the skid plate package transfer case and gas tank skid plates. The truck has 4.5 inch RE coil springs and 2 inch spacers for a total of 6.5 inches of lift. The lower control arms are Currie 9106 adjustable units. The upper control arms are adjustable RE3780 arms. Trackbar is the adjustable RE1660 unit with the RE 1665 trackbar drop bracket. We added the Trailforged.com 1.5 inch carbon steel tubing BTK crossover heim joint steering. This is a major improvement over the old factory .75 inch hollow steel tube tie rod end steering setup. We then added RE RXJ series shocks on all 4 corners. On the rear we added a set of ProComp 53111 rear leaf springs with RE2700 greasable shackles. With all this lift we had to add a Rugged Ridge SYE eliminator to avoid all those vibrations that come along with a lift. As well with the 33s the factory 3.07 gears would not be sufficient for daily driving so we swapped them for a set of 3.55 gears and LSD carriers. Also for protection on the trails we added a set of G2 Hammer covers. The steering is very tight and comfortable with the ProComp/Fox steering stabilizer . The 15x8 Blackrock 952 wheels are brand new as well as the splined lugs to hold them on the truck. The tires are a very well performing Achillies Deserthawk XMT 33x12.50-15, these are a great multipurpose tire, just read the reviews on them. We bead balanced the tires so there is no need to rebalance for the life of the tires. All fluids are new so this Jeep is ready to ride for the first 5k miles other than a re-torque of all the lift bolts. So why spend 30k on a new plastic Cherokee when you can own basically a new 2001 for less money and will retain its value better than that 2018 Cherokee. This Jeep is being sold with no reserve and will be sold to the highest bidder. There will be a 1000 dollar deposit due within 24 hours of auctions close. The remainder will be due within 72 hours in the form of a bank wire or cash in person. No I will not take your check and send you the remainder and let your shipper pick it up. The truck is as nice of a 2001 Cherokee as you could ask for but it is not a brand new Jeep, paint and interior may have a few flaws but no major flaws. It is a reconditioned 17 year old truck. Please feel free to come see the truck before you bid, and ask as many questions as you like, you will be hard pressed to find a nicer Cherokee, even if you spend a lot more. Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to stop auction for a local sale.
