My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2008 Subaru Legacy sedan. I would rate the exterior of this Legacy to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking sedan. It is finished in gray over black cloth. The gray finish has a deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Subaru. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would also rate the interior of this Subaru to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The carpets are clean and thick throughout the interior. I think this is the only Subaru I've had that didn't look and smell like the previous owner's dog lived in it. The seats are clean, comfortable and not covered in dog hair. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly. The stereo is original and sounds good. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. It is still too cold to confirm that the air conditioner is cooling effectively but I can tell you that the heater is working well. The trunk is spacious and clean. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this Subaru appears to be in good running and driving condition, but please read this entire paragraph carefully. The 2.5L flat four cylinder engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are excellent. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. There have been no idiot lights on during my road test. You can hear that there is a leak in the exhaust. It's not super loud, but you'll probably have to correct it if your state requires safety inspections. The clutch is the issue. I don't know what's going on with it. The clutch engages very, very low. When you push the pedal, it doesn't have much travel either. If I had to guess, I'd say the clutch fork is bent because it feels like something is on a bind when you press the clutch pedal. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the five speed manual transmission are nice and smooth, as they should be. I've driven this Subaru several times and it drives great. The clutch works every time and does exactly what is should. It just doesn't seem to have enough pedal travel. I don't think the clutch itself is shot...but you will definitely need to take care of it. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints.
