Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 2005 VW Passat GLS TDI Wagon. If you are looking at this auction, I'm sure you are aware that these are fairly rare in the US. This car has been in our family since 2011 when my sister in law bought it for a long highway commute to her teaching job. Shortly after purchase the engine failed and a replacement engine with 75K was installed when the car had 125K on it. She drove it another 110K miles and it experienced a lifter failure which is common for this series of engines. I repaired the car with OE equivalent parts. The parts used are listed below: Kolbenschmidt Camshaft INA Black Nitride Lifters Glyco Cam Bearings OEM VW Cam Bolts and Rocker Bolts OEM VW Tandem Pump Gasket OEM VW Camshaft Seal OEM Gates Timing Belt --- 038109119POEM Litens Tensioner --- 038109243MOEM Contitech Serpentine Belt --- 4PK0855/4PK0856 OEM Contitech Serpentine Alternator Belt --- 5PK1432OEM LUK/SKF Idler Roller --- 038109244JGraf Resin Metal Water Pump -- 038121011G OEM Water Outlet on Back of Cylinder Head - Common leak point OEM Water Neck on thermostat New OEM Thermostat New AGM Battery Re-manufactured Drive Axles - Both sides Fresh Oil Change with Pentosin VW Approved 505.01 oil Replaced turbo due to a broken outlet flange ~ 155K miles on the used turbo Replaced turbo outlet charge hose Glow plugs were replaced under the VW recall in January of 2018 The car is in very good mechanical condition. It starts easily and the transmission shifts crisply through the gears. At highway speeds, it averages about 40MPG and around 30MPG in the city. The radio was replaced with a Kenwood double din iPod and iPhone ready deck. All of the steering wheel controls have been retained with the install. The original radio will be included with the sale. Cosmetically the car is in good condition, but it has bumps and scratches that would be common on a car with almost 240K miles. The car spent most of its life in Virginia and Northern Kentucky, so it is rust free and is in better shape than most mid-western Passats that we have seen. Every ding in the car could be easily removed by PDR (Paintless Dent Removal). The interior is in good condition with no rips in the seats or discoloration. The rear seat is missing the center headrest and the cubby and pop out power outlet is broken in the rear center console. The speaker grill on the passenger rear door is broken (~$20 to replace). The headliner has some dirt on it and should be steam cleaned. This is one of the nicer TDI Passat wagons that is available for the price. We have put approximately 3,000 trouble free miles on it and it drives smoothly, has cold AC, has a great ride on the highway, and everything works. Both original keys will be included. Here is your chance to buy a completely serviced Passat TDI wagon at No Reserve. This car is being sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. THE WHEELS AND TIRES THAT ARE CURRENTLY ON THE VEHICLE ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE. The tires that are currently installed are Blizzak WS-80 snow tires on 16 inch VW wheels. These will be listed after the sale for the winning bidder if they would like to buy them. THE CAR WILL COME ON THE FACTORY 17 INCH WHEELS THAT ARE PICTURED IN IMAGE #21. These tires have less than 6K miles.
